The individual feels a powerful impulse toward self-assertion, but their energy often exceeds control, especially when encountering obstacles. **Het Monster** describes this aspect as **excessive impulsiveness**, where the person becomes their own adversary. They cannot tolerate delays, act abruptly, sometimes aggressively, striving to achieve their goals at any cost. - In **cardinal signs**, the square manifests as outbursts and anger, An aspect is read from degrees and orb in a specific chart, not from its name: [calculate your natal chart and see your squares](https://app.astroway.info/en/tools/natal) with exact orbs and the full list of aspects. - in **fixed** — as stubbornness and resentment, - in **mutable** — as irritability and chaotic expenditure of energy. When the square forms from Mars to Sun (*right-hand square*), a **tendency toward competition** is often observed — such individuals may become athletes, surgeons, or those seeking dynamism, risk, and a sense of power. **Catherine Aubier** emphasizes that the square between Sun and Mars creates an **inner conflict between “I want” and “I do”**. Aggression or the drive to act may be directed against the individual’s own “solar” principle — self-worth, authority, inner core. This is an aspect of **rebellion against authority, figures of power, or any limitations** perceived as threats to autonomy. The person may seek self-assertion through resistance, denial, or even conflict. On a deeper level, the Sun–Mars square indicates a **fear of expressing masculine energy** — both external strength and personal initiative. This may lead to an **inner dissonance between thought and action**: the person feels drawn to activity, but their impulses often result in clashes, arguments, or exhaustion. In practical terms, this aspect requires **learning to manage one’s energy**: - directing force not toward struggle, but toward **constructive realization**; - replacing aggression with **clarity and decisiveness**; - learning to act without needing to prove oneself through conflict. With harmonious integration, the Sun–Mars square can provide **strong willpower, high productivity, and the ability to achieve goals**, provided Mars’ energy is directed consciously rather than explosively. This is an aspect of **leaders and fighters** who are capable of realizing great ambitions, provided they learn to act not in opposition to the world, but in cooperation with it. ### Astro Way items - [Select options](https://astroway.info/en/shop/astroway-api-esoteric-pack/) ### [AstroWay API Esoteric Pack](https://astroway.info/en/shop/astroway-api-esoteric-pack/) [More details](https://astroway.info/en/shop/astroway-api-esoteric-pack/) - [Add to cart](https://astroway.info/en/kvadratura-solnce-mars/?add-to-cart=30457) ### [Natal Chart](https://astroway.info/en/shop/natalna-karta/) 4 560,00 ₴ ~ $100 [More details](https://astroway.info/en/shop/natalna-karta/) - [Add to cart](https://astroway.info/en/kvadratura-solnce-mars/?add-to-cart=30618) ### [AstroWay API Founders Lifetime Deal Indie tier forever](https://astroway.info/en/shop/astroway-api-indie-lifetime/) 13 634,00 ₴ ~ $299 [More details](https://astroway.info/en/shop/astroway-api-indie-lifetime/) - [Add to cart](https://astroway.info/en/kvadratura-solnce-mars/?add-to-cart=24865) ### [Karmic Astrology](https://astroway.info/en/shop/karmichna-astrologiya/) 2 280,00 ₴ ~ $50 [More details](https://astroway.info/en/shop/karmichna-astrologiya/) [Go to store →](https://astroway.info/en/shop/) ✨ ### Explore astrology further Free calculators, natal chart, online Tarot and other self-discovery tools.
