Dear mothers, I don’t know about you, but I’m finding it tough to raise a teenager – personally, my mind is blown away at an incredible speed in some situations. And that’s where knowledge of astrology comes in handy. When I’m about to explode, I remind myself: my Mars is conjunct my daughter’s Ascendant and opposes her Neptune, which is in the 7th house in Scorpio.
So if I blow up now, it will inevitably result in either a loud scream at the child, causing her psychological stress (Neptune), or I’ll grab a belt, and her Ascendant (i.e., her body) will suffer from my Mars (i.e., physical punishment).
It’s a dilemma, however. But I understand: as a parent, I mustn’t lose my temper. What to do when emotions are running high? How to cope with a furious Mars in Leo? Luckily, my Mars is in a fixed cross and in sextile to Saturn in Virgo: I engage my Mercury (i.e., reason and logical thinking) and count to 10: 9, 8, 7, 6… By the time I reach 5, I calm down, but my state changes abruptly, tears well up, and I’m overcome with emotion – it’s all the same what it’s about. And I wail, wail, wail, in a completely irrational wail.
That’s what intelligent children are like, and Scorpios to boot! A psychologist warned me it would be like this. Okay, so be it – that’s why I mustn’t blow up. I take a deep breath and, as we were taught in our child conflictology lectures, continue the conversation in a calm, measured tone, lowering my intonation at the end of each sentence.
After a while, my daughter calms down, starts crying, and says: “Sorry, Mom, I love you so much! When you scold me, I think you’re the strictest person in the world, but when you’re nearby, I understand that there’s no one better than you!”
Hurray, willpower, psychology, and maternal love have triumphed again!! Long live astroPSYCHOlogy!!!! Knowing one’s horoscope and the child’s horoscope turns out to be very helpful in the upbringing process. For me, it’s a salvation in many difficult situations.
