September 1: Knowledge Day and Solar Eclipse

Hello, dear readers of the portal “Zaraz” newspaper. For many schoolchildren and students, this year will be special, because this year the global Knowledge Day coincides with a powerful astrological phenomenon — a solar eclipse! This year, the Sun was located at 9 degrees and 21 minutes of the sign of Virgo, and therefore it will affect first-graders and freshmen most strongly.

A completely logical question arises: how can we understand who will be specifically affected by this eclipse and who will not? The point is that, despite all general astrological forecasts for a day or date, eclipses directly impact only a very small number of people: those whose individual natal horoscopes have the eclipse degree “touching” important personal points. Therefore, if you’ve already started to worry and feel anxious, you can relax—such people are few in number. Eclipses are a normal part of our lives, as 4–6 eclipses occur every year. For individuals, an eclipse is considered an important astrological factor only under one condition: if the degree of the solar eclipse resonates with your personal natal chart. If the eclipse degree does not correspond to any points in your personal birth horoscope, then there is nothing to worry about. For example, to understand whether the eclipse of September 1 will personally affect you or your child, you need to examine their individual horoscope, which an astrologer constructs using the date, place, and exact time of birth, plus study the so-called solar return chart for 2016/2017.

A special group of people, special days.

However, there is a group of individuals who definitely fall within the zone of influence. The eclipse will affect, in one way or another, those who have birthdays on August 31, September 1, or September 2. These people will face important changes throughout the year, though to varying degrees, in different areas, and with different consequences (including positive ones). Simply put, for them, the year from one birthday to the next will be marked by something significant: important events will occur in the family or in the person’s immediate environment. To understand what kind of events and how they will manifest—again, we look at the individual horoscope.

I also want to specifically highlight the three days before the eclipse and the week after, from August 29 to September 7. During this period, people will be less attentive, more prone to mood swings, irritability, and taking offense. Therefore, increased tension in communication, disrupted plans, and unexpected stressful situations are expected. Be cautious and try to avoid conflicts.

What does retrograde Mercury indicate?

For the sake of fairness, it must be noted that the overall backdrop of the eclipse is not simple. There are tense indicators and Mercury’s retrograde motion, which generally has a negative impact on the organization and flow of intellectual processes. Thus, two conclusions can be drawn. Conclusion #1: during the 2016/2017 academic year, many educational reforms and/or innovations will be adopted or developed. Conclusion #2: the day of September 1 itself will be rather chaotic; in many cities, there will be heavy traffic jams, and the chart of the day indicates a likelihood of overcrowding or serious fights due to poor organizational arrangements in some schools. Therefore, schools must optimize organizational processes, strengthen security and surveillance systems. But now the question is—where will this be most strongly felt? Since the eclipse affects the entire Earth, the next step is to determine in which country such a situation is most likely. Given that the area of best visibility of the eclipse falls within equatorial and tropical latitudes of the southern hemisphere, we can expect the greatest disturbances there during the week following September 1, as well as an ongoing threat to schools and educational institutions from terrorists or vandals.

As for the planet of learning and thinking—Mercury—its position in the eclipse chart on September 1 suggests possible difficulties and obstacles in establishing the learning process for first-graders and freshmen throughout the academic year. However, this year, if we disregard the retrograde motion, Mercury is surprisingly well-placed: it is in conjunction with the two luckiest and most beneficial planets in astrology—Venus and Jupiter. This is a time of intellectual success. This means that among the incoming first-graders and freshmen of 2016/2017, there will be many exceptionally talented students (more than in ordinary years), but considering that retrograde Mercury is still involved in the rather complex eclipse configuration, I conclude that these very first classes and first-year groups will face various challenges. Perhaps certain educational reforms will be adopted or finally refined by this academic year. Also, given the presence of tense configurations within the eclipse itself, I cannot rule out major scandals or difficult social processes within schools: it is likely that some of the schools attended by first-graders this year may later undergo restructuring. Politics is a delicate matter, and we ordinary people are often informed about it later rather than sooner.

Thus, I agree: this year’s eclipse is complex, but primarily for social phenomena, since a solar eclipse indicates social events that may strongly affect individual people whose natal charts show corresponding indicators. And only an astrologer can see this. The topic is much deeper than described in this article. Therefore, I limit myself to what has already been written. Best wishes to all first-graders and freshmen for a successful year!

Sincerely,

Astrologer
