Recently, it has become fashionable to disdain employment and to point out the slave root of the word WORK. Interestingly, most people call work what in fact is not work at all.
Let us try to explain what earning money and work itself mean from the perspective of astrology.
First of all, we want to state that earning money has nothing in common with work, in the sense most people are used to thinking.
In the personal natal chart, this is clearly delineated. The event of interaction with the material world is divided into three houses:
For example, the ruler of the 2nd house (money) is located in the 4th house (relatives, land, food), and the significator of the 4th house (Moon) is also in the 2nd house. Thus, there are two indications: 2+4. Therefore, fate tells the person: “You will earn not through career, not through position—this is your monkey labor—but your money comes from the sphere of the 4th house: relatives, real estate, land.”
In such a case, depending on the chart configuration, the person has a choice:
In this example, attempts to earn money while ignoring the themes of the 4th house will lead the person into financial dead ends—fate forces one to earn only in this specific way.
Astrological work is activity directed at expanding the financial flow (2nd house) through the realization of goals (10th house) by means of tools (6th house), accompanied by constant growth in the scale of activity and the person’s professional status (10th house).
Shuffling pencils, mechanically waiting for salary from month to month, playing office politics, typical mindless filling of spreadsheets or conducting SWOT analysis for yet another startup endlessly creating new logos with investors’ money—this is not work, and after such activities people complain and wonder where their millions are.
This is what happens when there is excessive focus on the attributes of the work process, rather than on goals and money. Instead of focusing on a new position, reducing employer’s costs, or increasing their own company’s profits, most people have trivial tasks like “make a beautiful website” and “order business cards.”
There is a category of people (with strong Virgo energy in the chart) who genuinely enjoy the work process itself because they are useful to others and are fixing the imperfections of this world. Usually, they find it hardest to accept the idea that their creative labor, under certain circumstances, is far from being an adequate source of income.
Socially acceptable forms through which a person realizes themselves in society:
- Vertical-type career, civil service, or its corporate equivalent (from position to position, to a new level of responsibility; dismissal and loss of the right to hold a position mean the collapse of one’s entire life),
- Horizontal-type career (staying in the same position, but growing qualitatively in skill level, so even if dismissed, the person easily finds new employment)
Every person’s natal chart contains their own mechanism, their own set of event levers, showing how they earn. Their professional growth in a career may be extraordinary, yet fate may not allow them into business or freelancing. Someone may boost their company’s sales by demonstrating a good example, someone else by simply learning to build relationships, someone by involving their spouse or relative in the business.
There are managers who graduated from Skolkovo, spent millions on degrees and certificates, yet fate does not allow them to rise above the level of an ordinary salesperson. There are people who are only high school graduates by education, yet work as presidents of holding companies, acquiring a diploma by age 50. For some, it is beneficial to be a free agent, for others—to be a corporate employee. There are a million variations.
But the essence is one. For those who complain about office slavery or lack of money, the important thing is merely the fact of performing daily actions (2nd house). In reality, 90% of a person’s personal time is filled with activities that have nothing to do with money or results. For some, meetings and direct negotiations are tools of victory, while for others they are a waste of time.
Use astrological knowledge and spend your most valuable resources—time and health—as effectively as possible.
