Jupiter Square: True greatness requires not proof, but measure. Jupiter’s square promises the planet much… alas, most often, these promises remain unfulfilled. In the areas governed by the planet, a person feels their greatness—not only potential but actual—yet those around them, as a rule, do not see it or doubt it, while the first somehow never manages to manifest. Jupiter’s square grants the planet expansion, but not in the way the person desires: either in the wrong direction, or in a style foreign to them, or simply not what they expected; at least, that is how it seems to the person. This square (which can be called the aspect of Lucifer) fosters the temptation of pride, superficiality, and too-easy acquisition of things that are not quite what the person wanted and certainly not what they need for evolutionary growth. In the areas governed by the planet, the person displays a constant superficial interest in “higher matters,” philosophical generalizations, and abstract-religious approaches, yet they tend to stop precisely at the point where something truly important and interesting to them begins—but not in the form of a luxurious gift or effort. For example, a Jupiter-Venus square with an accented Jupiter may produce a person who attracts a great deal of love, appears beautiful, interesting, and unusual at first glance, yet in concrete romantic relationships, they prove to be entirely self-absorbed, obsessed with their own beauty and grandiosity, and utterly incapable (and unwilling) to spare even a fleeting glance for the hopelessness of social (let alone emotional or sexual) connections—though arrogance does not diminish. Karma-wise, this aspect demands (in the areas governed by the planet) learning to treat the gifts and doors of fate that open with extreme caution and care, understanding that they imply further work and are ultimately meant for the world, not the individual. At a low level, in the relevant spheres, the person tends to (if there is even the slightest opportunity) play the role of a generous benefactor, which they execute poorly, as their self-interest and inadequacy or irrelevance of their “gifts” are glaringly transparent, and their overall clumsiness provokes more irritation than pity or gratitude (the latter being rare). Working through this aspect grants the rare ability to wield one’s luck karmically correctly, abandoning false opportunities and temptations to receive the invaluable gift of true spiritual aid on one’s path, as well as the vision to see similar issues in others and the ability (in the areas governed by the planet) to guide another toward the true path by revealing the karmic role of their temptations and delusions. Chiron Square: Having descended to the depths of life’s current, there is no need to blow bubbles without a specific purpose. Chiron’s square gives the person, in the areas influenced by the planet, strong, incomprehensible, and seemingly insurmountable dead ends in development, which they are in no hurry to open. If the square is part of a fixed cross, these may be minor cul-de-sacs that constantly replace one another, yet behind them, one can discern a single, ever-repeating great one. Chiron’s square signifies a karmic demand to view the planet and its associated issues in a non-standard way, specifically to seek their source in one’s own imperfections, the disharmony of subconscious programs, and adherence to social stereotypes—which Chiron always overcomes, and in the case of a square, most intensively. Chiron’s square denies the person the ability, in the relevant spheres, to follow conventional views and stereotypes: they quickly lead the action into a dead end, and an incredible chaos arises, behind which something stands—but what exactly remains unclear. At an average level, the person may develop an attitude akin to black humor, which is better than panic but still not constructive. Here, the person must examine themselves, understand the role of the planetary principle in their life (external and internal), and do something constructive from Chiron’s perspective—that is, materialize certain subtle plans tied to the planet. This usually manifests as a materialized miracle, yet one that can be taught to others. At a high level, this aspect grants a breakthrough into great creativity in the spheres tied to the planet, as well as the ability to uncover an original talent in others—but also a sense of dissatisfaction with one’s own methods and concrete achievements, as if someone behind the person, with undisguised mockery that escalates into outright derision, is asking: “And?” At a low level, the person may set a goal to discredit any creative manifestations of the planetary principle and, to some extent, succeed in this, especially regarding their own person.
