There are no bad people!

Venus in astrology represents all that is pleasant—love, beauty, aesthetics, relaxation, and the sense of happiness and harmony. When well-placed in the horoscope, it supports prosperity, luxury, charm, understanding, and affection from the opposite sex. In a woman’s horoscope, the sign in which Venus is located indicates the unconscious ideal of beauty that she will strive to embody. This is the image she will create through clothing, accessories, cosmetics, jewelry, and mannerisms to express her femininity and attract the opposite sex. In a man’s horoscope, the sign of Venus denotes his ideal partner—the beloved, the muse, the source of inspiration—in short, the type of woman who will always appeal to him and capture his attention.

Since Venus governs the principle of choice and evaluation of what you like or dislike, as well as reflecting your inner harmony, when Venus is afflicted in the natal chart, a person often encounters numerous difficulties in relationships and situations related to their appearance or attractiveness. Then distortions begin to emerge, sometimes leading to absurd situations. Imagine a woman so insecure about her femininity that she cannot even take out the trash without fresh makeup and high heels. Or an unexpected picnic invitation triggers panic because she has nothing suitable to wear. Another example is a woman who never appears in public without a perfect hairstyle, flawless makeup, and stylish clothing. One immediately recalls the example of Lyudmila Gurchenko, who, lying in her coffin, looked better than in life thanks to her stylist’s efforts. Consider this: the person was concerned about how she would appear even after death! All these examples point to an excessive focus on outward appearance and the carefully crafted image of femininity in the eyes of others. This reflects a distorted principle of self-perception and self-evaluation. From a psychological standpoint, anything in behavior that is excessive or demonstrative usually reveals underlying complexes. And precisely such individuals, despite their outward brilliance, often fail to experience lasting happiness in personal life.

It is logical: when evaluation criteria become distorted due to fears, insecurity, or other reasons, the person becomes tense, distrustful, and constantly provokes others into proving the strength or even the existence of their love. This typically occurs when Venus in the horoscope is afflicted or placed in Scorpio or Aries.

In such cases, we can identify four behavioral models.

  • The “maintenance” scenario. The individual attempts to completely ignore the issue related to the lack of the Venus principle.
  • Substitution. This behavior involves replacing the deficient Venus principle (sense of inner harmony or attractiveness) with another. The person emphasizes something else in themselves—intellect, physical fitness, sexuality, or another trait.
  • Hypercompensation. This is an exaggerated focus on Venus-related matters, with excessive emphasis on outward glamour or eroticism in situations where such behavior is inappropriate. The example of Lyudmila Gurchenko mentioned above falls into this category. Such individuals strive to prove their beauty, cultural refinement, material wealth, connection to the art world, and significance to everyone around them—and to themselves. Thus, hypercompensation is frequently observed among celebrities: Nadezhda Babkina, Philipp Kirkorov, Boris Moiseev, and others. Interestingly, at first glance, one might mistakenly assume these are fulfilled, self-sufficient individuals. However, closer contact reveals the opposite.
  • Using the problematic area as a “growth point.” A mature individual who recognizes their issues can dedicate attention and effort toward resolving them. We know the remarkable story of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was deeply troubled by his appearance and experienced significant discomfort during childhood. Yet, by using his physical weakness as a growth point—the frail, weak, and vulnerable boy (lacking the Mars principle)—became a world champion in bodybuilding, weightlifting, judo, and even a symbol of masculinity and strength. There are many such success stories, all rooted in the awareness of one’s perceived unattractiveness in comparison to others and an iron willpower.
  • Therefore, astro-psychologists believe there are no unattractive people—only passive individuals unwilling to fight for their harmony and beauty.
