Mars Opposition Neptune

Mars – Neptune Opposition

(Transit Mars → Natal Neptune)

Various sources for the child’s horoscope

Your child is emotional, has a vivid imagination, and strong creative abilities. They have a sensitive nature and are difficult to understand. Sometimes they feel confused, disoriented, or may act foolishly. They may identify with those who suffer. However, their ability to realistically assess other people is weak, and they may be deceived or experience disappointment in their ideals. Parents should teach the child to help themselves and control emotions such as despair. Emotional control is important. The child may react poorly to medications (especially narcotics), be prone to poisoning, and infectious diseases.

Het Monster. Aspects

A subtle, instinctive nature. Subconscious impulses are uncontrollable. Life is pure chaos. They conceal their plans. Sometimes they are deceitful and false. Often, abnormal sexual desires poison the marriage. They seek unusual pleasures, drugs, and alcohol. In the best case, neuroses related to repressed instincts arise. In the worst case, difficult-to-diagnose illnesses and strange deaths. Danger of connections with dishonest people.

Catherine Aubier. Astrological Dictionary

Opposition, square: As with a conjunction, the person feels the need to defend some ideal but misunderstands its meaning and acts inconsistently. Since they lack realism and clear thinking, they become disoriented and lose their bearings. Often, they set unattainable goals and fight windmills.

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

Mars opposition: Once you overcome an external enemy, watch as it becomes internal; once you conquer the internal, observe how it externalizes. The principle of the planet in opposition to Mars will constantly experience a forceful influence, and establishing harmony with this force will be difficult for the person. If the main emphasis is on the planet, and the person somewhat identifies with its principle, the external environment quickly becomes aggressive and begins to interfere strongly. If they start actively resisting it, they soon get used to fighting and, forgetting their original plans, reaccentuate the opposition, resulting in Mars becoming internally accented while the planet’s principle loses its significance for the person, transferring to the external world and taking on the role of an enemy, as described by the well-known saying, “What you fought for.” For example, with Mars opposition to Saturn, one cannot fight for discipline—one can only honestly try to be disciplined with minimal effort, or such a struggle ends in major troubles, external restrictions (Saturn’s lower octave), and the triumph of inner chaos. The problem often lies in the fact that the person feels strength only in the external manifestations of the planet’s principle but tends to fight it. After defeating and internalizing the planet, they lose their strength entirely, and the most painful and incomprehensible moments are precisely the imperceptible turning points of the opposition. Working through it provides stable strength to the planet’s manifestations, including the vibrations it needs, giving the person great self-confidence and the ability to balance the most acute and tense situations (related to the planet’s principle and the houses where it and Mars stand, as well as the aspects of these planets). At a low level, and especially with Mars afflicted, its opposition can produce destructive aggression in both the person and their environment. Here, one should remember that the instability of the opposition—frequent uncontrolled shifts in emphasis between the planets—indicates poor processing, while systematic work to track and consciously manage it is the most effective way to gain stability and harmony with oneself and the world.

Neptune opposition: Lies are not a spice—they are the main course. At a low level, a Neptune opposition highlights issues of external and internal deception and self-deception in the areas governed by the planet. It also brings up themes of lower meditation—vices of the kind governed by the planet. By emphasizing Neptune, a person may take pleasure in the lowest manifestations of the planet in the external world, and self-deception can be so strong that they do not recognize their participation in something bad, unworthy, or immoral. Conversely, by emphasizing the planet’s principle, the person will encounter deception and misunderstanding in the external world and will genuinely wonder what is happening, not realizing that internal dishonesty, self-deception, and deception of others create a cloud of Neptune’s lower octave around them, and the world begins to deceive them. For example, with Mars opposition to Neptune (a very dangerous aspect at a low level), a person may internally enjoy any external activity, especially aggression, without noticing its destructive consequences for peace and others. Later, the situation will turn slightly, and the aggression of the external world will turn against them, while Neptune will produce a sense of complete incomprehension, offense, and injustice about what is happening to them—but all of this with a sweet aftertaste of lower Neptunian masochistic meditation. Then (oh horror!) the emphasis of the opposition will shift to the opposite, distorting external reality—meaning the person will decisively lose their understanding of others, and internally, destructive Martian self-aggression may begin, possibly with a sharp sense of guilt and remorse, which the external world will categorically not understand or accept. Then the emphasis will shift again. Processing this aspect is complex because it requires deep, intimate, and essential changes in a person’s attitude toward the planet’s principle—they must learn to understand and love it and be honest with themselves and the external world, at least initially not lying outright. For example, an opposition to the Ascendant (i.e., Neptune conjunct the Descendant) requires the person to stop lying to their partners and open enemies (to which they are very prone), or they will never escape the cloud of general deception and false positions. At a high level of processing, the person gains stable, subtle, and profound understanding of the planet’s principle, the ability for high meditations in its spheres, which they can carefully and thoughtfully convey to others.

Frances Sakoian. Aspects

A subtle, hard-to-grasp nature, instincts. Mars’ aggression and violence take the form of subconscious motives. Danger in the emotional realm. Subconscious impulses are beyond control. Life is pure chaos. They often hide their plans. Sometimes they are false and deceitful—not always intentionally, but simply as an automatic reaction (Neptune—subconsciousness, 12th house, self-destruction). Often, abnormal sexual desires poison the marriage. They seek unusual emotional satisfaction. They should avoid drugs and alcohol, which can push them into a lower plane. In a strong chart, this may manifest as neuroses related to repressed instincts. Possible difficult-to-diagnose illnesses, strange and mysterious deaths (if confirmed by other factors, since the aspect combines the 8th, 4th, and 12th houses). When drawn to mysticism, they become victims of unreal visions. An excess of feelings manifests in the desire to be unusual. Danger from connections with dishonest people who share these people’s inclinations. Neptune is the Achilles’ heel of the zodiac. Neptune governs the subconscious, and in this aspect, it is especially dangerous, as Mars itself pushes toward reckless actions.

S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of Planets

Obsession, fanaticism, psychological blindness. The person acts based on idealistic or subjective positions, detached from reality; inability or unwillingness to consider circumstances. Manic states, neuroses; obsessive states; tendency to deception or self-deception; danger of being robbed or a tendency to take what is not theirs—sometimes kleptomania. Such people are prone to being cursed. The positive side includes high spiritual aspirations, self-sacrifice; religiosity, usually Orthodox Christianity. An aspect of self-sacrifice.
