Saturn opposition: A person clearly hears the voice of reason, but it is unpleasant to them. A planet’s opposition to Saturn brings to the forefront the issue of inner discipline and external limitations in the areas related to it. In general, a major aspect of a planet to Saturn creates a deep desire to thoroughly understand its principle, which is initially presented to the person in a strongly frozen and unprocessed form. For an opposition, resistance of the planetary principle to its processing and in-depth study is characteristic, expressed in the fact that as soon as a person internally gathers, focuses, and begins to carefully examine the issue, it immediately becomes hollowed out, flat, and completely uninteresting. Unprocessed Saturn kills any life in any matter it touches, and in this case, that life goes outward, meaning the planetary principle suddenly manifests in the external world and seems unattainable. As a result, a person develops a false impression that the planetary principle is completely inaccessible to them, which in the case of Pluto can be endured, but with Venus or the Moon, it is much more difficult, and frustrations, neuroses, and complete emotional rigidity may arise.
On the other hand, attempts to emphasize the principle of the planet and identify with it are often accompanied by complete disregard for Saturn’s principle—that is, deep processing and careful work in inner life—while simultaneously reinforcing rigid Saturnian limitations in the areas governed by the planet. Here, karma demands that a person establish a very clear interaction between the principles of the planet and Saturn, meaning necessary self-restraint and precision in the chosen direction. With poor processing and especially careless forceful approaches, which Saturn does not tolerate, the planet can literally become stuck at a dead point (meaning its principle will be completely frozen in a lower octave of Saturn), and it will be very difficult to extricate it; processing through Neptune and Pluto, as well as harmonious influence from Jupiter or Chiron, helps.
At a high level, this opposition provides extraordinary precision, depth, and effectiveness in the planet’s manifestations, as well as greater stability in the areas it governs due to wisdom and foresight.
Chiron opposition: By going too deep into yourself, you risk emerging from the opposite side. A Chiron opposition sets two main tasks for the planet: the qualitative expansion of its principle and its materialization in areas that were previously considered subtle, the most subtle, and completely elusive. At a low level, however, Chiron does not provide expansion or materialization but instead chaos and developmental dead ends. If at this moment the emphasis in the opposition lies on the planet and a person identifies with its principle, Chiron reveals its presence in the external world, creating in the areas related to the planet incredible bustle, disorder, unimaginable (often very original) obstacles, and dead ends, the meaning and cause of which are unclear. This forces a person to reconsider their views on the planet’s principle and master it in a significantly broader version—that is, to move to the next level of processing the planet. If they do not do this, external circumstances arise in such a way that the person loses identification with the planet’s principle, which is then externalized and manifests in the external world beyond former limits of accessibility (for example, a pilot becomes an airfield worker), and the main emphasis in the opposition shifts to Chiron, which, having taken root internally, brings a sense of established views and often a feeling of an internal dead end, accompanied by despair.
Processing here occurs by the planet’s principle accepting and mastering Chiron’s paradoxes while he jokes in the external world, which gives the planet (and the person in its areas of influence) extraordinary, almost surreal abilities and talents that will amaze everyone (including the person themselves) with the power of their persuasiveness. Processed Chiron is a very material phenomenon, and processing its opposition provides an interesting variant of talent—sustained, non-trivial vision and creativity in the areas related to the planet. For example, processing the opposition of Chiron to Pluto (which will cost the person a great deal) gives extraordinary critical abilities; it is very difficult to evade the sharp, though sometimes harsh, remarks of such a person or to suppress them into the subconscious, as they are so precise, fair, and convincing.
True processing of the opposition to Chiron requires deep inner work and mastering conscious control over the subconscious programs related to the areas of the planet’s influence.
