Saturn opposition: A person clearly hears the voice of reason, but it is unpleasant to them. An opposition of a planet to Saturn actualizes the issue of inner discipline and external restrictions in the areas related to it. In general, a major aspect of a planet to Saturn creates a deep desire to thoroughly understand its principle, which is initially presented to the person in a strongly frozen and unprocessed form. For the opposition, resistance of the planet’s principle to its processing and in-depth study is characteristic, expressed in the fact that as soon as a person internally gathers, focuses, and begins to carefully examine the issue, it immediately becomes hollow, flat, and completely uninteresting. Unprocessed Saturn kills any life in any matter it touches, and in this case, that life goes outward, meaning the planet’s principle unexpectedly manifests in the external world and seems unattainable. As a result, the person develops a false impression that the planet’s principle is completely inaccessible to them—something that can be endured in the case of Pluto, but much more difficult in the cases of Venus or the Moon, and may lead to frustration, neuroses, and complete emotional rigidity. On the other hand, attempts to emphasize the planet’s principle and identify with it are often accompanied by complete disregard for the Saturnian principle—that is, thorough processing and deep inner work—while simultaneously strengthening rigid Saturnian restrictions in the areas governed by the planet. Here, karma demands that the person establish very clear interaction between the principles of the planet and those of Saturn, meaning necessary self-restraint and precision in the chosen direction. With poor processing and especially careless forceful approaches—which Saturn does not tolerate—the planet can literally become stuck at a dead point (meaning its principle will be completely frozen in the lower octave of Saturn), and it will be very difficult to bring it out of there. Processing through Neptune and Pluto and the harmonious influence of Jupiter or Chiron can help. At a high level, this opposition gives extraordinary precision, depth, and effectiveness in the manifestations of the planet, as well as greater stability in the areas it governs due to wisdom and foresight.
Uranus opposition: As a rule, the Lord expresses His wrath personally, but when hands are lowered, we resort to the services of people. The opposition of Uranus presents the planet with the difficult task of reconciling with the principles of extraordinary events, suddenness, brilliant insights, and powerful energy. Therefore, it is natural for a person to try to identify with the planet’s principle, as a result of which Uranus’s manifestations often occur externally in the form of unexpected external events and effects—not always friendly (in the areas related to the planet)—which, in addition to their direct meaning, should be learned to interpret as signs of karma. Sometimes (a strong experience for an average person), the emphasis in the opposition does shift, and for a time the main focus is placed on Uranus. During this period, the most unusual things and events may happen to the person (or come from them), their views on the world and themselves may shift sharply, and insights and penetration into the depths of the subconscious may occur. However, it is difficult to sustain Uranian energy (and its mental impulses) for long, and temporary madness either ends on its own with a reverse shift in emphasis on the planets of the opposition or continues under the supervision of psychiatrists, who balance the Uranus opposition with the help of psychotropic drugs—a crude and far from the only method, especially if one tries to relieve the tension through activation of these means. The Uranus opposition gives the planet brilliant ideas that initially seem completely incompatible—not only with its own principle but even more so with the current circumstances of its manifestation in the person’s life. In an unprocessed state, the person either completely submits to these ideas (risking their life, psyche, and career) or completely ignores them (which is especially likely in the case of its defeat). Processing occurs through adapting these ideas to the planet’s principle, which gives it brilliance, originality, and power. At a high level, the Uranus opposition gives the person stable creative abilities and genius insights in the areas governed by the planet, as well as the ability to see and influence national and planetary karma.
