Sun-Sun Opposition

Sun — Neptune Opposition

(Transit. Sun → Natal Neptune)

Different sources for the child’s horoscope

Your child often struggles to draw attention to themselves and may feel invisible or uncertain about their abilities. They find it difficult to understand themselves, which can lead to deep confusion. In such moments, they may retreat into their own created world. For adults communicating with such children, it is crucial to clearly distinguish between reality and what exists in their imagination. It is important to carefully choose films, TV programs, and other entertainment, or at least watch them together with the child. The child may struggle to see their “real” father. They might idealize their father as almost saintly, only to feel disappointed when they realize he is not.

Het Monster. Aspects

Difficulties in personal and romantic relationships. Superstitions based on past experiences. In love, they become victims of illusion. They are deceived unintentionally and are unreliable. They often face danger from “astral beings” and deceptive psychic forces. It is better for them to stay away from occult phenomena.

Catherine Aubier. Astrological Dictionary

Opposition, square: a person becomes a mystery to themselves, moving through life in a fog, relying on misleading intuitive guidance. Their rules of movement differ from the general ones, and their actions often do not align with accepted norms and traditions. They tend to make mistakes, misjudging people and things, convinced that only they see things correctly. They are passionately drawn to mysteries, and their explanations are rarely comprehensible to others—the situation seems to unfold somewhere else, not here. In extreme cases, this unreality becomes an escape from reality, leading to a desire to retreat into an “artificial paradise”—alcohol, drugs, or daydreams. In some cases, the Sun-Neptune opposition indicates a perception of the father figure as distant and elusive. If this aspect appears in a woman’s chart, it may influence her attitude toward men and relationships in general: she may see her partner as entirely different from who he truly is, potentially causing complications in married life.

Sun opposition: Before acting on an intention, one must first understand to what extent it truly belongs to them. An opposition between the Sun and a planet highlights the issue of that planet’s relationship with the individual’s will and the imperative circumstances shaping their path. The mere presence of a major aspect between the Sun and a planet suggests that its principle will never manifest independently of the person’s will or the defining circumstances influencing their behavior; the opposition further indicates a known opposition between these principles, often accompanied by the externalization of one of them. At a low level, this provokes conflict when the person forcibly resists an external manifestation of the planet’s principle or, conversely, when external conditions suppress the internal expressions of the planet’s principle with which they identify. For example, with a Sun-Mars opposition, a person may experience various conflicts and battles with the external world (or, at a higher level, with themselves), but upon closer inspection, two types of conflicts emerge: in the first, the person emphasizes and internalizes the Sun’s principle, opposing their will and composure to their own external self and initiative; in the second, they adopt an aggressive Martian stance, actively resisting an imperative external will, effectively submitting to its initiative without having their own. With a Sun-Moon opposition, a person constantly battles themselves, and the people they occasionally clash with serve as mere substitutes embodying their will and ego, which this aspect necessitates learning to cooperate with and understand, as focusing on the Moon (i.e., adopting the ego’s position) immediately threatens to destroy their “home” by depriving them of family and sustenance (or so it seems to them). Conversely, adopting the Sun’s position—activating their will and initiative—leads them to act in ways that painfully suppress their vital interests (a phenomenon they cannot explain). Working through this aspect grants extraordinary resilience in life—for instance, a woman capable of healing her husband from alcoholism or mental illness and then raising wonderful children with him.

Neptune opposition: Lies are not a spice—they are the main course. At a low level, a Neptune opposition highlights the problem of external and internal deception and self-deception in the areas governed by the planet, introducing themes of lower meditation—i.e., vices driven by the planet’s principle. By emphasizing Neptune, a person may derive pleasure from the lowest expressions of the planet in the external world, with self-deception so strong that they fail to recognize their involvement in something bad, unworthy, or immoral. Conversely, by emphasizing the planet’s principle, they encounter deception and misunderstanding in the external world, genuinely perplexed by what is happening, unaware that internal dishonesty, self-deception, and deception of others create a cloud of lower octave Neptune around them, causing the world to deceive them in return. For example, with a Mars-Neptune opposition (a very dangerous aspect at a low level), a person may internally enjoy any external activity, especially aggression, completely oblivious to its destructive consequences for peace and others. Soon, the situation reverses, and aggression from the external world turns against them, while Neptune amplifies a sense of complete incomprehension, offense, and injustice—all tinged with the sweet aftertaste of lower Neptunian masochistic meditation. Then (oh horror!) the opposition’s emphasis shifts to the opposite, distorting external reality: the person loses their understanding of others, while internally, destructive Martian self-aggression takes hold, possibly accompanied by acute guilt and remorse that the external world categorically fails to understand or accept. The emphasis then shifts again. Processing this aspect is challenging, as it requires profound, intimate, and essential changes in how a person relates to the planet’s principle—they must learn to understand and love it while being honest with themselves and the external world, avoiding outright deception, at least initially. For example, a Neptune opposition to the Ascendant (i.e., Neptune conjunct the Descendant) demands that the person stop lying to their partners and open enemies (a tendency they are prone to), or they will never escape the cloud of deception and falsehood surrounding them. At a high level of processing, the individual gains a stable, subtle, and deep understanding of the planet’s principle, the ability to engage in elevated meditation in its spheres, and the capacity to convey this understanding to others with care and gentleness.

Frances Sakoian. Aspects

Difficulties in personal, romantic, and religious relationships. Superstitions rooted in past experiences. One must learn objectivity in communication. Emotionality leads to projecting excessive imagination and fantasy into relationships, resulting in disappointment. They are often deceived unintentionally and are highly unreliable. In love, they fall victim to illusions. They believe they are divinely gifted, when in reality, they are victims of grandiosity. They often face danger from astral entities and deceptive psychic forces. They should avoid séances and astral phenomena, striving to be honest and sincere in relationships.

S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of Planets

It gives strong subjectivity, fanaticism, obsession, irrationality, immersion in one’s inner world, in one’s feelings, a tendency to act on inner impulses while ignoring real circumstances. In such aspects, Neptune brings heightened sensitivity, a risk of neuroses and psychoses, susceptibility to negative influences, a tendency to indulge oneself, to go with the flow, and to fall prey to temptations. It may manifest as untidiness, carelessness, a reluctance to deal with mundane matters or daily life, leading to disorder at home—or, conversely, excessive attention to cleanliness. Neptune is also associated with a bohemian lifestyle (theft, deception, fortune-telling). Furthermore, as the planet of deception, it fosters a tendency to deceive others or to deceive oneself; bohemianism, indecisiveness, duality, ambiguity, mistakes, and a penchant for intrigue and lies. On the positive side, this aspect can stimulate a drive toward high spirituality, the ability to achieve great spiritual heights, and the willingness to sacrifice personal interests for a higher spiritual cause. It also develops attention to detail, psychological insight, compassion for the unfortunate, and a desire to help them.
