Such a child may be attracted to the superhero archetype (an ordinary person who transforms into a powerful being). He will strive to resemble such a figure, displaying boldness and self-confidence. Family issues, such as separation from or loss of one parent, may intensify the feeling of being stripped of personal power and will. The child must understand that there are right and wrong ways to use personal power. Otherwise, he may express the use of personal power through fights and arguments in order to feel worthy of his own strength. Parents and teachers should allow such children to acknowledge their own significance, while ensuring they do not act in a disrespectful or cruel manner toward themselves or others.
The child may perceive his father as all-knowing and omnipotent, or as domineering and merciless (these qualities arise in the child’s imagination through observations of real-life situations).
