Sun-Opposite-Uranus

Sun Opposite Uranus

(Transit. Sun → Natal Uranus)

Different sources for a child’s horoscope

Your child may display capricious or eccentric behavior. There may be a tendency to rebel against authorities (for example, father or teacher), which can lead to conflicts within the family and social environment. The child might find themselves in situations bringing misfortune or unusual circumstances. The child may perceive the father either as an exceptional person or as overly unreliable and irresponsible. Sometimes the child views the father as a unique being, someone they could never become themselves.

Het Monster. Aspects

A desire to break through a wall with one’s head. Constant insistence on personal independence. Hence, difficulties in relationships with partners and friends. They suddenly change their mind, often not wisely. Nervous, irritable, easily excitable. In arguments, they never give in. Often consider themselves geniuses. Although possessing abilities, they do not know how to use them wisely, and are generally not as talented as they believe.

Catherine Haugh. Astrological Dictionary

Conjunction: an aspect that clearly accentuates and fully expresses the individual characteristics of the personality. Under its influence, a person strives to mark and show their uniqueness to the outside world. In doing so, they employ unusual methods, demonstrating a creative, innovative approach. There is also a thirst for power, but spiritual and intellectual power: they would like to be a teacher, mentor, setting an example for others. Opposition, square: the meaning is the same as in conjunction, but with a certain “excess.” The person is ready to go to any extremes to prove their uniqueness and self-expression. For self-assertion, they sometimes choose inappropriate moments. They reject systems and ideologies, become scattered, and may surprise others with abrupt mood changes. Not seeing themselves objectively, the person accuses others of dogmatism in judgment, thereby committing the very fault they condemn. At the root of this is often a sharp break with the parental model, complicating the development of a personal “I,” resulting in a changeable character, and the person rebels simply so that others notice their existence.

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

Sun opposition: Before carrying out an intention, one should understand to what extent it truly belongs to oneself. An opposition to the Sun activates for the Planet the issue of its relationship with the person’s will and various imperative circumstances arising on their path. The mere presence of a major aspect between the Sun and a Planet means that its principle will never manifest independently of the person’s will or the defining circumstances of their behavior; the opposition additionally indicates a certain conflict between these principles, often accompanied by the externalization of one of them. At a low level, this provokes conflict—either the person forcefully struggles against some external manifestation of the Planet’s principle, or, conversely, external conditions suppress the internal expressions of the planetary principle with which they personally identify. For example, with Sun opposite Mars, the person will experience various conflicts and battles with the external world (at a higher level—with themselves), but upon closer inspection, one can notice that these conflicts come in “two types”: in the first case, the person emphasizes and internalizes the Sun’s principle, opposing their will and composure to external aggression (initiative); in the second, conversely, they adopt an aggressive Martian position and actively fight against an imperative hostile will, effectively submitting to its initiative—that is, lacking their own. With Sun opposite Moon, the person constantly fights with themselves, and the people they occasionally clash with are essentially surrogates embodying their will and ego—entities that, under this aspect, need to learn to cooperate and understand each other. When emphasizing the Moon, i.e., adopting the ego’s position, the person immediately threatens to destroy their own home, depriving themselves of family and sustenance (at least, that’s how it seems to them); whereas adopting the Sun’s position, i.e., activating their will and initiative, the person acts in such a way that they actually painfully suppress their own vital interests (why this happens, they cannot explain). Working through this aspect brings extraordinary life stability—for example, a woman capable of curing her husband of alcoholism or mental illness and then raising excellent children together with him. Uranus opposition: Usually, the Lord expresses His anger personally, but when He grows weary, He uses people as instruments. The opposition to Uranus presents the Planet with the difficult task of coming to terms with the principles of extraordinariness, suddenness, brilliant illumination, and powerful energy. Therefore, it is natural for the person to attempt identification with the planetary principle, as a result of which Uranian manifestations most often come from the outside, in the form of unexpected external events and effects—far from always friendly (in areas related to the Planet)—which, besides their direct meaning, should also be learned to interpret as karmic signs. Sometimes (for an average person, this is a strong experience), the emphases in the opposition do shift to the opposite, and the main focus temporarily shifts onto Uranus. During this time, the most extraordinary things and events may happen to the person (or emanate from them), their worldview and self-perception may sharply change, and moments of illumination or penetration into the depths of the subconscious may occur. However, sustaining Uranian energy (and its mental impulses) for long is difficult, and temporary madness either resolves itself naturally through a reverse shift of emphasis back to the opposing planet, or continues under the supervision of psychiatrists who balance the Uranus opposition with psychotropic drugs—a crude and far from the only method, especially since activating them may be attempted to relieve excess tension. The Uranus opposition gives the Planet brilliant ideas that initially seem utterly incompatible—not just with its principle, but rather with the current circumstances of its manifestation in the person’s life. In the unworked version, the person either completely surrenders to these ideas (at risk to life, mind, and career), or entirely ignores them (which especially indicates its detriment). Processing occurs through adapting these ideas to the planetary principle, thereby endowing it with brilliance, originality, and strength. At a high level, the Uranus opposition grants the person stable creative abilities and genius insights in the areas governed by the Planet, along with perception of and influence upon national and planetary karma.

Francesca Sakoyan. Aspects

A desire to break through a wall with one’s head. Hypersensitivity, insistence on personal independence, hence difficulty in relationships with partners and friends. They suddenly change their mind, often not wisely. Nervous, irritable, tense, easily excitable; others dislike being in their company. Often deliberately traditional, merely to create tension and provoke discussion. They are difficult because they change their behavior and hold eccentric views, never giving in even an inch. They often consider themselves geniuses, but although possessing unusual abilities, they do not know how to use them wisely, and are generally not as talented as they believe. Their instability and unfriendliness prevent them from seeing things through to completion, and they cannot obtain the necessary education and experience to realize their goals in life.
