Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Sun Decile: Was the creation of man a humanitarian act? This aspect raises in a person’s life the issue of humanity in their own acts of will and initiatives, as well as (usually weak) imperative influences of fate within the sphere governed by the Planet. In this sphere, the individual will be relatively free, and will have to regulate their will based on considerations of humanism—as they understand it. At the very least, the thought of humanity, or the theme itself, will arise in connection with (usually faintly expressed) necessity to do something within the sphere of the planetary principle or to manifest a certain personal initiative there. With a well-dignified Sun, these initiatives will be appropriate and appear genuinely humane; with an afflicted Sun, the person will often be overly active, and the result, despite good intentions, will turn out disastrous and disharmonious—especially if the Planet is afflicted, making its principle difficult to satisfy. In such cases, external coercion over one’s will within the planet’s spheres will be experienced as utterly inhumane, although actual tangible harm within the planet’s domains will usually be minor. Moon Decile: People should be fed with food proper to them, not with one’s own raw flesh. Within the spheres ruled by the Planet, the individual acutely perceives inhumane treatment only at the level of unmet needs, which, if the Moon is afflicted, may be strongly distorted. On the other hand, the simultaneous activation of the Planet’s principles and the Moon—such as thoughts about one’s people, mother, or lack of nourishment in connection with the Planet’s spheres—triggers in them an instinctive surge of humanitarian feelings, most naturally expressed through care, especially for urgent needs. For example, a Moon-Venus decile, if not strongly afflicted, grants extraordinary tenderness and gentleness in love, a desire to protect, comfort, and compassionately care for the beloved; yet a lack of comfort may be perceived by this person as an inhumane manifestation of fate or of the partner personally. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that the decile, as a minor aspect, always indicates only an indirect dependency between planetary principles, and a person with a Moon-Venus decile will not be vitally dependent in love on domestic discomforts (even if they regard them as inhumane), unlike a person with a Moon square Venus.
