Semi-Sextile Mars: Which planet symbolizes aggression in Martian astrology? This aspect requires for its realization a partial transition to the cosmic vibrations of a person’s personal energy, which primarily means the subtlety of active actions that appear to contradict the crudeness of earthly reality and, at a low level of processing, brings the person a host of unpleasant experiences—not only of a metaphysical nature: resistance to evil is unethical according to cosmic laws. However, in the spheres of the Planet, the person will realistically have to face not so much external evil as internal evil, and moreover, socially induced, since the person is initially tuned to cosmic energy, incomprehensible and often unacceptable to the collective subconscious. Processing occurs through mastering, comprehending, and internally accepting the cosmic vibrations and cosmic ethics of active actions available to the person, which gradually proves to be a more effective protection against the aggression of the external world than initially expected. However, in this case, especially with Mars afflicted, it is more difficult to rid oneself of internal aggression toward the world and oneself—both overt and repressed—since the semi-sextile demands sterility and purity in this regard; initially, it is present, but gradually disappears, creating a sense of inner disharmony and rigidity that the person does not fully understand, as in this case, they are judged not by humanity but by the Cosmos.

This aspect signifies great responsibility before cosmic karma in the spheres of the Planet, the possibility of its deep understanding, and, when worked through, promises otherworldly wisdom and perfection. At a low level, the person will limit themselves to claims about the poor quality of what happens in the external world in the spheres of the Planet, not realizing, first, that their demands are often poorly understood by those around them, who usually stand firmly on earthly positions, and second, that karma in this case primarily implies inner work toward increasingly deeper meaning in cosmic (not just earthly) evolution. Until the person reaches this level of understanding, the spheres of the Planet will attract them, and they will understand them, perhaps more deeply than those around them, but still, for reasons unclear to themselves, the person will not be satisfied with their level. With Saturn afflicted in connection with this, there may be complexes and phobias, with genuine bewilderment toward the environment, the inner world, or God: “What else do you want from me?!” Indeed, the demands—or rather expectations (after all, a semi-sextile is a harmonious aspect)—of worldly karma in this case are great, and superficial or short-term efforts will not suffice. In its harmonious form, this aspect provides relatively deep insight and original vision in the spheres of the Planet in the natural course of life, not immediately but without undue effort, and although this is insufficient, harmonious aspects can mask the subtle dissatisfaction of the cosmic egregore and, accordingly, a slight discomfort in the inner world, which intensifies when the inner world is afflicted.
