Semi-Sextile Mercury – Uranus
(Transit Mercury → Natal Uranus)

Semi-Sextile Mercury: When aliens from space wish to contact humanity, they will announce it through the press. At a low level, this aspect gives a slight mental interest in abstract cosmic themes and shifts in perspective, along with occasional thoughts that do not fit into the standard social framework—thoughts that a person usually pays little attention to. When the aspect is strongly activated, it distorts the mental picture of the world in the areas governed by the planet, and the individual may reject it or even fear their own thoughts. This happens because public consciousness has imposed a particularly strong censorship on rational thinking; cosmic ethics are largely unacceptable to it, primarily for anthropocentric reasons: after all, “man is the master of all, he decides everything,” and the ultimate spiritual goal of evolution is not reflected in these barely comprehensible words. At a higher level of development, a person begins to sense their unique way of thinking and mental control in the areas governed by the planet as fresh, creative, and potentially very promising, though they may struggle to find common ground with others or even explain to themselves the hidden meaning of their thoughts and words—yet they feel that something is not quite right. Deep processing of the aspect leads to a rational understanding of earthly and, to some extent, cosmic karma in the relevant spheres, and then earthly and cosmic rational perspectives align to a significant degree (at a low level, this is impossible, and with a challenged semi-sextile, mental disorders may sometimes occur). Semi-Sextile Uranus: The Apocalypse is not quite the right term. It is cosmic. This is a difficult aspect to process (here, Uranus is in detriment), but it most often manifests in minor, fleeting flashes of cosmic inspiration that a person pays no attention to. A strong activation of Uranus can intensify this semi-sextile, and the individual may then come under the strong influence of a cosmic egregore, having been, as a rule, unprepared for it. If the semi-sextile connects Uranus with a planet of the fourth level, it signifies a sudden activation of cosmic karma, and the person is swept into a current over which they have no control and usually do not understand what is happening—only humility and a higher spiritual orientation can help here. If, however, the active semi-sextile involves Uranus with a lower planet, one can attempt to rise to the level of cosmic perception of what is happening in its spheres, and then the signs of fate may speak in a language that, if not entirely human, is at least comprehensible to the individual. In this case, the Uranian crisis can be overcome, and sometimes even deciphered and practically implemented in the form of excessive Uranian revelations; fortunately, they rarely take the form of direct blows of fate, but with a strong affliction of Uranus, a brief yet complete departure from the boundaries of earthly perception may occur, which externally resembles madness.
