Semi-Sextile Saturn – Pluto
(Transit. Saturn → Natal Pluto)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Semi-Sextile Saturn: There are spots on the Sun of the inner sky. This aspect signifies great responsibility before the cosmic karma in the spheres of the planet, the possibility of its deep understanding, and, when worked through, promises otherworldly wisdom and perfection. At a low level, a person will limit themselves to claims about the low quality of what happens in the external world in the spheres of the planet, not understanding, first, that their demands are often poorly understood by others, usually standing entirely on earthly positions, and, second, that karma in this case primarily refers to inner work aimed at increasingly deep meaning in cosmic (not just earthly) evolution. Until a person reaches this level of understanding, the spheres of the planet will attract them, and they will understand them, perhaps more deeply than others, but still, for reasons unclear to themselves, their level will not satisfy them. With Saturn afflicted in connection with this, complexes and phobias may arise, accompanied by genuine bewilderment toward the environment, inner world, or God: “What else do you want from me?!” Indeed, the demands—or rather expectations (after all, a semi-sextile is a harmonious aspect)—of worldly karma in this case are great, and superficial or short-lived efforts will not suffice.
In its harmonious form, this aspect grants relatively deep insight and original vision in the spheres of the planet within the natural course of life, not immediately but without excessive effort. However, this is not enough—harmonious aspects can mask subtle dissatisfaction with the cosmic egregore and, accordingly, a slight discomfort in the inner world, which, when the inner world is affected, becomes more pronounced.
Semi-Sextile Pluto: From a cosmic perspective, Earth is not threatened by the underworld but by a garbage dump. This aspect brings a cleansing in the spheres of the planet, conducted from the standpoint of cosmic ethics. This cleansing will occur both within the person themselves and in their environment, and ideally should proceed harmoniously, though it may conflict with the person’s views on earthly beauty. Typically, this aspect brings minor troubles that replace greater ones, and if the person recognizes this, they will consider the aspect highly beneficial, especially if they find the strength to accept inevitable losses—often minor but, from an earthly standpoint, possibly unreasonable and incomprehensible.
In principle, this aspect holds great scientific interest, as it allows a person to encounter the cosmic version of karma in its most harmonious form. Thus, while remaining relatively safe, one can explore cosmic ethics in the spheres of the planet, at least learning what the Cosmos deems unacceptable and subject to destruction. An afflicted semi-sextile may lead to a sharply negative attitude toward the spheres of the planet, which should not (though the temptation exists) be taken as cosmic truth: here, earthly disharmony combines with a cosmic critical perspective. Constructive processing and criticism of the spheres of the planet can yield very high results and strong evolution of the external world.
