The Luckiest Man in the World lives in Croatia, in the small town of Petrinja. His name is Frane Selak, a musician and conductor by profession. Frane Selak is officially recognized and listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the luckiest person on the planet.
“This Croatian’s luck would certainly be enough for the 5 lives of 5 average people. Who can answer why God reached out to him so many times at the most dangerous moment?” (German magazine)
Here’s what Selak says:
“In my life, I’ve survived 7 disasters – 7 times I’ve been on the verge of death. And ask me, am I a happy man? I’ll answer – YES! Very happy! My mother was 7 months pregnant. In 1929, one Saturday, Dad, his name was Martini, went out to sea in a boat – he loved to fish. And Mom always kept him company. Halfway there, Mom cried out: – Martine, I think I’m going to give birth now! Dad says; – You’re crazy, there are still 2 months to wait! So Mom gave birth to me in the boat. And Dad cut the umbilical cord with a fishing knife. And grabbing me by the head, he plunged into the sea, wrapped me in a shirt, and quickly swam back.”
And in the hospital, where the couple immediately went, the baby’s condition worsened. Of course, there were no incubators for newborns back then. And the doctors pronounced their verdict: the boy wouldn’t make it. But Frane’s mother didn’t even think of giving up! She rushed to the church, sprinkled holy water on the shirt the baby was wrapped in in the boat – and the child immediately breathed differently, came back to life. This was the first miracle in Frane Selak’s life. Many years passed before Frane realized: even then, in the first days of his life, fate gave him the first, yet unrealized, hint, which his parents later told him about more than once: luck only goes into the hands of those who, regardless of circumstances and opinions, are ready to fight for it to the end.
Seven Disasters of Frane Selak
The first time the Croatian was truly lucky was in 1962, when the train he was traveling on from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik derailed and fell into an icy river, Ananova reports. Seventeen people drowned, and Frane Selak almost died with them. He pulled an old woman who was traveling with him in the same carriage from the other world. He managed to swim to shore, suffering severe hypothermia, shock, bruises, and a broken arm.
In 1963, he fell out of a plane between Zagreb and Rijeka – during the flight, the plane door suddenly opened. There was a wonderful stewardess on board the plane. He unbuckled his seatbelt and went to flirt with the girl. At that moment, the plane door opened, and the stewardess flew out of the plane, followed by the lovelorn Frane. The stewardess hung on the crown of a tree, caught on her clothes, and this saved her life. Frane fell into a haystack. It turns out that the plane hit part of the mountain with its wing due to fog. As a result of this disaster, 17 people died again. Selak got away with shock, bruises, and cuts. This incident was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
In 1966, the bus he was traveling on to the city of Split tilted and fell into the river. Four people died. Selak swam to shore, suffering cuts, bruises, and this time even more shock.
Disaster number four happened to the Croatian in 1970. The Skoda car he was driving on the highway suddenly caught fire. Selak managed to get out of the car seconds before the gas tank exploded.
After this incident, his friend began to call the lucky Croatian “Lucky.” “He said to me then: – “You can look at everything that happens to you from two sides. Either you are the unluckiest person in the world, or the luckiest.” I preferred the second,” says Frane.
In 1973, a failing fuel pump sprayed gasoline directly onto the hot engine of his car, fanning the flames through the breather. Frane lost his hair, but
The following year, Selak was driving his car in the mountains when, suddenly rounding a bend, he saw a UN truck speeding directly towards him. His Skoda crashed into the roadside barrier, broke through it, and hung on the edge of a cliff. At the last moment, Salek managed to jump out of the car. After a short flight, he landed on a tree, from where he could watch his car fly into a mountain gorge and explode 90 meters below.
Frane Selak also attributed five of his marriages to the catastrophes of his life.
But if until 2003 the “higher powers” were testing Frane in various disasters, in June 2003 it was “decided” to test him with what most people associate with happiness – 74-year-old Frane won the equivalent of £600,000 in the lottery. That’s almost $1,000,000.
With the money he won, Selak bought a house, a car, and a speedboat. After that, he married his sweetheart for the fifth time, who is 20 years younger than him.
He then declared: “Now I will enjoy my life. I feel reborn. I know God has been watching over me all these years.”
But then Frane Selak, considered the luckiest man on earth, decided to give away the lottery winnings to friends and relatives, The Daily Telegraph writes. Selak decided that “money can’t buy happiness” and returned to a modest life. He sold his luxury house on a private island, gave away the money, and returned to his modest home in the town of Petrinja, south of Zagreb.
The luckiest man in the world said:
“God gave, we shared, praise be to God, we live and are healthy. We are all lucky, at least because we live.”
“All I need at my age is Katarina! Money wouldn’t change anything,” said the pensioner.
He spent the rest of his winnings on hip replacement surgery to make his married life more enjoyable, and also built a chapel in honor of the Virgin Mary to thank the Mother of God for his good fortune.
I hope you have..
…enough happiness to make you sweet,
…enough trials to make you strong,
…enough sorrow to remain human,
…enough hope to be happy.
I was curious to look at the lucky man’s horoscope)) so I will partially examine the horoscope and the factors of luck or failure. Or is everything really that bad?
He was born on June 3, 1929. According to his Sun sign, our lucky man is a Gemini.
1st house (Ascendant) at 21 degrees Scorpio – the person has a powerful inner strength, an inexhaustible supply of energy. Scorpio symbolizes the process of transformation (the process of inevitable change).
The ruler of the 21st degree is Pluto. Indicates an unstable life, a fate full of changes and alterations. Blows and vicissitudes of fate. The threat of collapse, crash, fall, discharge. Sooner or later, Pluto makes you know yourself, completely transforming your worldview. The pain of separation and loss helps to gain new experiences and experience previously unknown feelings.
Also, the Ascendant fell in conjunction with the star Unukalhai (Heart of the Serpent – has the nature of Uranus and Neptune), often its action is very dangerous and destructive. It is noteworthy that Unukalhai in love and in marriage for men speaks of the infidelity of his wife, or of his attraction to many women. But the star is favorable to those who begin to help others, to pass on their knowledge, and then the influence of the star Unukalhai will give luck and fortune.
The ruler of the 1st house, Pluto, stands in the 8th house – fate is always near. The ability to survive in extreme situations, it is dangerous to get into mass disasters, not to get lost under any circumstances, a person knows how to take risks and survive in disasters. In life, many situations are given that
The 2nd House (related to finances) has its cusp in Sagittarius. Saturn is placed here, indicating that the person will not earn much in life. However, Saturn is in harmonious aspect with a strong Neptune and Venus. And harmonious aspects promise money, property, especially in old age. Also, this indicates good musical abilities, earnings are related to creativity. Selak was a musician by profession.
Uranus (provides sudden events, surprises), the ruler of the 3rd house (short trips), is located in the 5th house – unexpected adventures on trips, of the kind that “you couldn’t make up on purpose”. Uranus has harmonious aspects to Mercury (in the 8th house) and Mars in the 9th house (travel, trips, luck), so our hero manages to miraculously avoid death.
The 4th house in Pisces – mystical circumstances of birth. Let us recall Frane’s birth at sea and the miracle that took place in the church. The ruler of the 4th house, Neptune, is in the 9th (according to Hermes, the ninth house is the house of God, Higher Will, help from Above. It is the ninth house that allows a person to change fate). Neptune is the theme of mystery, danger, uncertainty, and risk.
Frane’s chart has two Grand Trines. The first Grand Trine is formed by Saturn, Venus, and Neptune; the second by Lilith, Venus, and Neptune.
The Grand Trine is a Cosmic shield against dangers. A person who has a Grand Trine in their chart is not afraid of any vicissitudes of fate, they have good abilities that can be manifested if necessary, and often external conditions help them rush through life happier and faster than others. No wonder astrologers call this configuration a “Mercedes”.
The Moon symbolizes the woman, changes, moves, travels, water, liquids. The Moon is “responsible” for physical life, therefore it both teaches and protects. The Moon is in Aries in the 5th house in conjunction with Uranus (simply an explosive combination of planets and sign) + harmonious aspects to Mercury, Pluto, and Mars. In life, this gives extreme situations on the road – explosions, fires, falls.
Also, the Moon is located at 19 degrees Aries (in the degree of the Sun). A lot of energy is concentrated at this point, which gives fame in life (Selak is listed in the Guinness Book of Records).
What is more important: the influence of stars or the position of planets in the horoscope? The position of the planets, of course, determines important fateful qualities, but the stars can have a long-lasting effect.
Mercury in Gemini in conjunction with the star Capella – possible unpleasant experiences, conflicting situations.
Uranus in the 5th house (love) in conjunction with the star Deneb Algedi – has a destructive effect on relationships, and misfortunes are also possible on trips. However, the negative effect of Deneb Algedi can be overcome if you find the strength and unravel the requirements hidden in these events. In any case, this star indicates the impossibility of passive acceptance of fate and avoidance of solving problems.
And what indicators further indicate winning the lottery? There are several in his chart, I will dwell briefly. The Moon, the ruler of the 8th house, is in the 5th (gambling, lottery) in conjunction with Uranus (a lucky break) + sextile to Pluto (money).
The 28th, 29th degrees are expressed in the chart, which gives wealth.
The North Node in Taurus in conjunction with Jupiter – happiness, good luck, protection of life; several marriages.
The position of Neptune at 29 degrees Leo in conjunction with the star Regulus brings fame and a lot of money. But, the accident that can follow success is also characteristic of this star.
And what factors indicate a large number of marriages? Jupiter in the 7th house in Taurus. Uranus in aspect to Mercury (the ruler of the 7th house of partners) – Uranus likes to change everything, gives unstable marriages. Powerful Uranus pushes a person to gain freedom and the opportunity to live as they wish.
Neptune plays an important role, is strongly expressed in the horoscope. The very concept of temptation lives in Neptune. Neptune in trine to Venus – the person is “charmingly attractive”. Pluto and Mars (rulers of the 1st house) in aspect to Mercury in the 8th house, this position fuels sexual desires. Let us recall how successfully he flirted
But why did he give away his money? Black Moon Lilith in the 2nd house indicates periodic attacks of fear of losing everything, of being left without means of subsistence, or, on the other hand, complete disregard for money and possessions. So the person is “tossed” back and forth: from stinginess to incomprehensible expenses, and at different times can behave very differently (literally throws money away, for example, can climb on the roof of the house, throw down a pack of banknotes and watch passers-by pick them up), but Frane simply gave them away.
And the fact that he built a chapel to thank the Virgin Mary also indicates a trine of Lilith to Neptune in the 9th house (the house of God, religion). Neptune’s position in the horoscope is very strong; no matter what happens, faith in God is still great.
What I want to add, having looked at the chart and the video… a lucky man… my opinion is that material and spiritual wealth are in continuous interaction. Very rare are the cases when a happy person does not have enough money. Money solves a lot, but it will never solve or fulfill the main thing… it won’t buy love, it won’t awaken feelings… He chose love! Our happiness, the ability to love, to enjoy life, is within ourselves. And only we ourselves decide: to be grateful for life or to be dissatisfied with it.
Love your life! And may the fire of your love burn, no matter what!
I want to wish Frane Selak a long life and good luck!
