Your child has endurance, resourcefulness, and courage in dangerous and difficult situations. But he struggles to control his energy; it’s somewhat like pressing on the brake with one foot while pressing the gas pedal with the other. He finds it hard to express feelings of anger and irritation, which may lead to physical and emotional issues. Anger long suppressed in the child may erupt like a volcano. It’s possible that parents prevent the child from asserting himself, which could block the free process of mutual understanding between them.
As he matures, he may be shy regarding sexual matters and experience guilt. He needs to be reassured that sexual feelings are a natural part of the growing-up process.
