The child may be very sensitive to criticism and attacks from others. It may be difficult for them to separate the expression of feelings and thoughts from their ego. A problem may arise if they do not learn to distinguish between their ideas and their personality. If they make a mistake at school, they might think the mistake reflects poorly on them and consequently feel inadequate. They need to be regarded as intelligent.
