Trine Moon – Saturn

Trine Moon – Saturn

(Transit. Moon → Natal Saturn)

Various sources for the child’s horoscope

Your child is hardworking, perceptive, possesses a strong sense of dignity, common sense, and a sense of duty, though they may be prone to melancholy. They lack confidence, and their expression of emotions may be restrained. They might feel that their parents, perhaps both, do not love them enough, and sometimes they experience deep loneliness. Parents should give the child as much positive energy as possible, praise them, and show their love. The child should be taught as early as possible to cope with feelings of sadness and anxiety.

Het Monster. Aspects

Caution, conservatism. Common sense, organizational talent. They can endure significant difficulties to achieve their goals. They can be cunning but not very inventive—they develop matters based on familiar, ingrained principles. Often, they lead a Spartan lifestyle. A strong sense of dignity and duty is characteristic.

Kathrin Obë. Astrological Dictionary

Trine, sextile: aspects that combine subtle sensitivity with firmness. Restrained temperament, full control over emotions, inner balance, a search for security in the material and domestic realm. Often, there is a tendency toward emotional restraint, caution, a need for peace and solitude. A lack of imagination and adaptability: the mind inhibits the movement of the soul. The person is loyal to the family hearth but indifferent to excessive tenderness.

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

Moon trine: Ingratitude is a wall that protects a person’s personal happiness from the disharmony of the world at large. In the areas governed by the planet, this person is difficult to emotionally disturb for long; their ability to restore disrupted subconscious balance is remarkable. A Moon–Venus trine grants extraordinary inner resilience to love experiences, while a Moon–Sun trine provides resilience to any imperative circumstances. With an egocentric attitude, a Moon trine gives a meticulous but utterly merciless vampire in the areas related to the planet—merciless because they are entirely unaware of what they are actually doing. For example, with an unworked Moon–Venus trine, a person may sincerely love and somehow understand art, but their perception is largely physiological, meaning it will be accompanied by a crude profanation of aesthetic currents. After speaking with an artist and sincerely praising their paintings, this person will cover them—and the artist as well—with a film of banality and dullness, forcing the artist to take time to recover and reorganize their gift, cleansing it. Conversely, working through this trine produces a person of art, every step and gesture of whom can be admired, not to mention their home and the food they prepare.

A Moon trine grants brilliant abilities for intuitive learning in areas governed by the planet (for example, a trine to Mercury grants linguistic abilities, a trine to Mars grants athletic prowess, and a trine to the Sun grants the ability to control others’ wills). At the same time, it also fosters outstanding laziness in these same areas, which can only be overcome through external spiritual direction when the person feels the importance of every choice and action and the responsibility that comes with them.

At a low (or average) level, in the areas governed by the planet, there is a semi-conscious position of the type: “If I need to, I can easily do it, so why try?” and a general, yet sincere, egocentric orientation with a subconscious feeling: “Of course, the whole world should work for me—who else would it be for?” Beneath a thin veneer of well-being lies a vast gray area with pockets of decay, though most of this is repressed into the subconscious and manifests as a general depressive background, making any constructive work on oneself or in the external world seem utterly hopeless and meaningless to the person.

Working through the aspect involves overcoming laziness and the tendency to profane everything that happens in the areas governed by the planet, and both should be perceived not as personal flaws but as direct enemies (i.e., according to the 7th house). In general, it can be said that a Moon trine tries to subtly direct the lower principle of the planet to serve the ego or, at best, the person’s family, while its karmic purpose is to be worked through, expanded, and refined by transforming the lower programs of the subconscious: the gourmand becomes the chef.

Saturn trine: Universal evolution. A Saturn trine grants the person natural discipline, concentration, and diligence in areas related to the planet, as well as the desire and ability to shift their burden onto others. On the other hand, even a Saturn trine imparts a certain restraint, coldness, and rigidity to the planetary principle, which can only be overcome through focused inner work on the planetary principle. Here, as is typical of a trine, the obstacle is laziness, though it is not obvious since Saturn itself demands focus and effort. However (in the area governed by the planetary principle), the person tends to work diligently only as much as circumstances demand and no more. And circumstances (regarding areas governed by the planet) never force them to concentrate or delve deeply into a subject for too long or too intensely. While externally the person may appear to be a hero of selfless labor, their inner concentration and intensity tend to be woefully insufficient.

A person with a Saturn–Sun trine finds it strange to watch people who cannot gather themselves and do what is objectively necessary, and they have little understanding for the complaints of a person with unaspected Saturn about their inability to concentrate and discipline themselves in the most urgent circumstances. Working through the aspect leads to serious development of the planetary principle, primarily within the person—deep and thorough refinement of the corresponding subconscious programs, promising creative achievements and profound individual self-expression.

At a low level, superficial efforts and focus on the planetary principle are mistaken for depth, which can lead to professional disappointments: the person shows great promise but soon falters. A brilliant physics student becomes a mediocre software engineer (an unworked Saturn–Uranus trine). Unfortunately, this is not all: a Saturn trine, which karmically implies deep work on the planetary principle and creates all the conditions for it, in cases where this does not happen, freezes the planet, and the person loses flexibility, sensitivity, and understanding in the corresponding areas, sometimes becoming enslaved to a rigid egregore (Saturn trines of the jailer and the concentration camp commander).

Frances Sakoian. Aspects

Caution, conservatism, straightforwardness, common sense, organizational talent. They can endure difficulties to achieve their goals. They can be cunning and businesslike but not very inventive, developing matters based on old foundations. Well-suited for mining, land, and real estate. Often, they are Spartans—stern, disciplined, and indifferent to external comforts. A strong sense of dignity and duty is characteristic.

S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of the Planets

Thoughtfulness, prudence, foresight, thoroughness, attentiveness, caution, rationality, responsibility, authority, diplomacy, tact, self-confidence. Ability to systematize and organize, to make constant efforts. Constancy in feelings and preferences, conscientiousness, neatness. The negative side of these aspects includes conservatism, an inability to act quickly in acute situations, excessive caution and prudence, and a reluctance to change.
