Trine of Mercury and Jupiter

Mercury Trine Jupiter

(Transit Mercury → Natal Jupiter)

Different sources for the child’s horoscope

Your child is very curious, with many interests and hobbies. They have a moderate temperament and calm, gentle behavior. They easily find common ground with different people. Sometimes they promise more than they can deliver. They are eloquent in persuasion and can express their thoughts well in writing. They enjoy philosophizing and contemplating quite “adult” topics. They will find it easier than other children to learn foreign languages. Often, they start collecting books from childhood and have a large library.

Het Monster. Aspects

A favorable aspect for students, teachers, publishers, correspondents, and writers. Generosity, tolerance toward others’ opinions, and quick reasoning. Thoughts are expressed easily and clearly. They are sincere, decent, and consider the consequences of their actions. They enjoy traveling to distant lands—either in reality or in dreams. They are generous with friends and hospitable. They enjoy taking care of the home and have a large library. Sometimes, contemplation prevails in their character: they have no interest in worldly success.

Catherine Aubier. Astrological Dictionary

Trine, sextile: a practical, active mind capable of simplifying—sometimes even roughing up—facts to make them accessible to everyone. Ease of assimilation and perception, cunning, and opportunistic thinking; such a person can use a clever trick to ensure the answer aligns. They are a good speaker, easily express their thoughts, and have the gift of persuasion—words serve them in achieving success. Their ideas are practical, concrete, and accessible to all.

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

Mercury trine: To make a shallow idea profound, digging a hole for it is not enough. The Mercury trine grants excellent mental abilities, agility, and luck in transactions in areas governed by the planet—provided the person puts in minimal effort. For example, the Mercury trine Mars gives strength to speech and thought, ease of reasoning, and the ability to complete complex mental work in seconds (and sell it profitably), but all this seems too easy at first glance. If there is no additional interest or obstacles, the person will likely settle for stating: “Well, this is simple, and this is simple…” The trine simultaneously grants great superficial abilities—the person grasps things instantly—but laziness and an inner aversion to hard mental work in areas where it could be avoided arise. In such cases, self-deception occurs in the areas governed by the planet: the person believes they understand everything at once, but their understanding is superficial, and their mental control over the planetary principle is crude and irrational—something they (and their surroundings) often fail to notice.

At a low level, Mercury will produce rigid thought patterns that literally crush the planet’s principle, though the person won’t notice because, at first glance, they seem to be doing everything correctly. If the planet is stronger, it will direct the person’s thoughts accordingly, and mental self-control will drop to nearly zero, which can lead far astray—all while the person remains fully convinced they are thinking and speaking correctly. For instance, the Mercury trine Pluto grants an excellent critical mind, but if Pluto is stronger, the person will see the world in black at a low level, finding only vices and crimes in everything (except themselves), and nothing will shake their perspective. Ironically, the person may not feel deeply unhappy about this but may even derive a certain satisfaction from finding daily confirmation of their unshakable life stance: “The world is no good.”

Jupiter trine: The holiday of possibilities that open up is overshadowed by the mourning of their realization. The Jupiter trine is like a natural New Year’s wish or free, harmonious abundance that often looks better in life as a wish than as a reality. The trine, besides harmony and stability, carries an element of banality; if not worked through, it can lead to boredom and dullness. Similarly, with the Mercury trine to any planet, the person will have, alongside cleverness, a sense of deep mediocrity in their thoughts—something difficult to break through (even with the Mercury trine Uranus, where extreme originality and eccentricity of thought often turn out to be borrowed at closer inspection).

Likewise, the Jupiter trine provides general protection in the areas governed by the planet. In fate, there is always a large, embroidered sack of brilliant opportunities, alternative solutions to difficult situations, benevolent patrons, and generous benefactors ready to give at the first request… but to the consumer, all this seems artificial, even though it sometimes pulls the person out of real trouble. Here, it is crucial to understand that this harmonious coincidence of circumstances and broad possibilities is not for the person themselves but for the planetary principle—to develop and work through, both within the person and in the external world. In other words, the Jupiter trine is like Santa Claus, who freely gives gifts to children, and if he is attentive and selfless, his sack never empties, and extraordinary gifts occasionally appear. But if he directs all gifts exclusively to himself, the sack gradually loses its luster, and the gifts fade… and, most importantly, the person develops a strong subconscious dissatisfaction with themselves and their fate, which is often rationalized as a projection: “I do everything for others, but people and the world repay me with black ingratitude.”

It should be noted that it is precisely consumption and ingratitude (toward people and fate) that characterize the low level of working through the Jupiter trine, though the person themselves will never agree with this.

Frances Sakoian. Aspects

Beneficial for those involved in higher education, students, teachers, publishers, foreign correspondents, and writers—especially those writing on religious, philosophical topics, or matters related to the 9th and 3rd houses. Generous, tolerant of others’ opinions, and quick in reasoning. Thoughts are expressed easily and clearly, and ideas are conveyed effectively. Good for politicians or those who frequently give speeches. Sincere, decent, as they consider the ethical consequences of their actions and thoughts. Beneficial for professions related to law. They enjoy traveling to distant lands, whether in reality or dreams. Generous with friends and hospitable. They enjoy taking care of the home and have a large library. They invest much effort in equipping their home for social gatherings. Example phrase: The power of positive thinking. Thanks to optimism in their thoughts, success awaits them. But sometimes, contemplation prevails.

S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of Planets

A broad, philosophical, scientific, deep, serious, lively, research-oriented mind with rich imagination and cheerfulness. Grants kindness, humanity, justice, honesty, and decency. A good gift of foresight that can be used in business. Good commercial opportunities. A rich, fertile, and prolific writer’s mind. The negative side is that Jupiter can foster loyalty to the existing state of affairs, making the person unable to fight for justice.
