Sun-Moon Trine
(Transit. Sun → Natal Moon)
Different sources for a child’s horoscope
The child has good parents and stable emotional relationships within the family. The child is psychologically balanced, with harmony between feelings and will. He or she will likely develop a sense of full individuality much earlier than other children.
Het Monster. Aspects
Harmony between consciousness and potential strength. Good health, resilience, and recuperative ability. Attracts the opposite sex. If there are no contradictions, there are good relationships with others, self-confidence, and optimism. If the Sun, Moon, IV and X houses are not afflicted, there is good understanding within the family and with children.
Catherine Haug. Astrological Dictionary
Trine, sextile: generally indicate psychological balance and excellent adaptability. Oriented toward seeking harmony, such a person knows how to feel and reason by analogy, looking for similarities and affinities, but tends to reject everything that does not conform to their idea of the ideal. Sensitivity and imagination are combined with a sense of reality. They succeed in achieving harmony in a relationship with another person, provided other details of the horoscope do not contradict this; such a union is preferable to solitude and to large social gatherings. They sincerely believe that between people of different sexes there are no differences significant enough to prevent mutual understanding and harmonious coexistence. They desire success both in public and family life, making no concessions in either sphere. Astrological tradition states that these aspects in a person’s horoscope indicate agreement between the parents. This seems not to reflect reality—at least in our time, when divorces are so frequent and greatly distort the entire picture. In fact, it is more accurate to say that for someone with a harmonious Sun-Moon aspect in their chart, even parental quarrels witnessed by the individual serve only as an additional incentive to seek and believe in harmony.
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Sun trine: Feeling fate’s support, consider what exactly is being supported. This is a very strong aspect. Karma seems to decree that the planetary principle should live well, harmoniously, and happily—at least this is how the person perceives it at a low level of processing the planet and its trine to the Sun. In reality, karma grants the planetary principle a victorious path, provided the principle is actively worked on; moreover, the person’s will, when directed toward the planetary principle, easily acquires a constructive direction—if the person desires it. If the person wishes to exploit the planetary principle, their will again encounters no resistance. Therefore, one should not assume that a Sun trine means flourishing of the planetary principle; with equal likelihood, it may indicate its decay (though still under a beautiful facade), if the person’s will is directed toward predatory consumption and irrational use. In this sense, the Sun-Moon trine is particularly dangerous, especially with a strong Sun, as it allows overly easy exploitation of health for the sake of the person’s will, which in practice most often means the will of some rigid egregore. Overall, today’s interpretation of the trine in general, and especially the Sun trine, depends greatly on the level of its processing. At a low level, with an egoistic orientation of will, the person soon encounters the unpleasant effect that external imperative circumstances only seemingly, superficially support the planetary principle, while internally—essentially—the person does not develop but gradually stagnates, becoming hopelessly stuck. Conversely, active processing and development of the planetary principle will receive great karmic support, which will seem entirely natural to the person but will in fact result from their volitional efforts, strengthened by the planet’s trine. It is very important here not to stop, since the creatively supportive influence of the trine ends immediately upon weakening of the person’s constructive volitional effort, turning into a predatory force—that is, one that forcibly extracts harmony from the environment and gives it to the person, but in a form uninteresting to them. In the spheres ruled by the planet, it is dangerous to oppose such a person: the force supporting harmony around them will not hesitate to act against you. When interpreting this trine, it is also important to consider the relative strength of the Sun and the planet, but here one should rely not only on the horoscope but also on the person’s specific life circumstances. In any case, the person will sincerely believe that their will and initiative in the sphere of the planetary principle are flawless, and it is practically impossible to convince them otherwise. Moon trine: Ingratitude is a wall protecting the person’s personal happiness from the world’s disharmony. In the spheres ruled by the planet, it is difficult to emotionally affect this person for long: their ability to restore disrupted subconscious balance is astonishing. The Moon-Venus trine gives extraordinary inner stability regarding love experiences; the Moon-Sun trine gives stability regarding any imperative circumstances. With an ego-centered orientation, the Moon trine creates a careful yet absolutely ruthless vampire in the areas related to the planet—ruthless because the person is entirely unaware of what they are actually doing. For example, with an unprocessed Moon-Venus trine, a person may sincerely love and somehow understand art, but their perception is largely physiological, accompanied by a crude profanation of aesthetic currents. After talking to an artist and sincerely praising their paintings, such a person may cover both the artwork and the creator with a film of banality and dullness, forcing the artist to spend some time recovering and reorganizing their gift, purifying it. Conversely, working on this trine produces a person of art, whose every step and gesture is a delight to behold, not to mention their home and the food they prepare. The Moon trine gives brilliant abilities for intuitive learning in the spheres ruled by the planet (for example, a trine to Mercury gives linguistic talent, to Mars—athletic ability, to the Sun—the ability to influence others’ will), and at the same time remarkable laziness in these same areas, which can only be overcome through various external spiritual orientations, when the person feels the importance of each choice and action and responsibility for them. At a low (and medium) level, in the planet’s spheres, a semi-conscious attitude prevails: “If necessary, I can easily do it—why should I strive?” along with a general yet deeply sincere ego-centered orientation and a subconscious feeling: “Of course, the whole world should strive for me—after all, for whom else?” Under the thin film of well-being lies a vast area of dullness with pockets of decay, mostly repressed into the subconscious and manifesting as a general depressive background, making any constructive self-improvement or external work seem profoundly hopeless and meaningless to the person. Processing occurs through overcoming laziness and the tendency to profane everything happening in the planet’s spheres, both of which should be perceived not as personal flaws but as direct enemies (i.e., through the 7th house). Overall, it can be said that the Moon trine attempts subtly to direct the planet’s lower principle into serving the ego or, at best, the person’s family, while karmically it is intended for processing, expansion, and refinement through the transformation of the subconscious’s lower programs: the gourmet becomes the cook.
Francesca Sakoian. Aspects
Harmony between creative power and vital potential, with inheritance and habits; strong life force, good health, resistance, and recuperative ability. S.V. Shestopalov. Planetary Aspects
This configuration of Sun and Moon gives fullness of life, harmony of soul and body, constancy, and balance; health and well-being, rapid recovery of strength after illness. This is a sense of personal dignity, a large number of friends, work for the benefit of society and people; success in cooperation, partnership, a happy marriage, early success in life. Success with the opposite sex may lead to instability in marriage, infidelity, marital unfaithfulness, and inconstancy in feelings.
