The Sun’s trine: Feeling supported by fate, consider what exactly it is supporting. This is a very strong aspect. Karma seems to determine that the planetary principle should live well, harmoniously, and happily—or at least that is how it appears to a person operating at a low level of processing the planet and its trine to the Sun. In reality, karma grants the planet’s principle a victorious path, provided it is worked on; moreover, the person’s will, when directed toward the planetary principle, easily finds a constructive direction—if the person desires it. If, however, the person wishes to exploit the principle of the planet, their will will encounter no resistance. Thus, one should not assume that the Sun’s trine signifies the flourishing of the planetary principle; with equal likelihood, it may indicate its decay (though still under a beautiful facade) if the person’s will is directed toward predatory consumption and irrational use. In this sense, the Sun–Moon trine is particularly dangerous, especially with a strong Sun, as it allows health to be too easily exploited for the sake of human will—something that in practice most often means the will of one or another rigid egregore.

In general, the interpretation of a trine in general—and of the Sun’s trine in particular—depends on the level of its processing. At a low level, with an ego-driven will, the person will soon encounter the unpleasant effect that external imperative circumstances only superficially seem to favor the planetary principle, while internally—essentially—they do not develop but gradually stagnate, leaving the person hopeless. Conversely, active processing of the planetary principle and its development will find strong support from karma, which will appear entirely natural to the person but will be the result of their volitional efforts, reinforced by the planet’s trine. Here, it is crucial not to stop, as the creative and supportive influence of the trine immediately ceases when the person’s constructive volitional effort weakens, transforming into a predatory one—i.e., forcibly extracting harmony from the environment and appropriating it in a form that is uninteresting to them.

In the spheres governed by the planet, it is dangerous to contend with this person: the force that maintains harmony around them will show no ceremony with you. When interpreting this trine, it is also important to consider the relative strength of the Sun and the planet, though here one should rely not only on the horoscope but also on the person’s concrete life circumstances. In any case, the person will sincerely believe that their will and initiative in the sphere of the planetary principle are flawless, and it will be nearly impossible to convince them otherwise.

The Mercury trine: To deepen a shallow thought, it is not enough to dig a hole for it. The Mercury trine grants excellent mental abilities, dexterity, and luck in transactions in the areas governed by the planet—provided the person exerts minimal effort. For example, the Mercury–Mars trine gives strength of speech and thought, ease of reasoning, and the ability to complete complex mental work in seconds (and sell it profitably). Yet all this seems too easy to the person at first glance, and if there is no additional interest or obstacle, they will likely settle for the observation: “Well, it’s all so simple, and this is simple, and this is simple.” At the same time, the person gains great superficial abilities, grasping things instantly, while laziness and inner antipathy toward serious mental work—where it is unnecessary—remain. In this case, self-deception arises in the areas governed by the planet: the person believes they understand everything immediately and completely, but in reality, their understanding is superficial, and their mental control over the planetary principle is crude and irrational—something they (and those around them) often fail to notice. They undermine the principle of the planet without realizing it, since at first glance, they appear to be doing everything correctly.

If Pluto is stronger, then at a low level, the entire world will appear black to the person; they will see only vices and crimes in everything (except themselves), and nothing will shake them from this view: “The world is no good.”
