Trine Sun – Venus

(Transit. Sun → Natal Venus)

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

A trine between the Sun and Venus is a very strong aspect. Fate seems to support the planetary principle, encouraging it to live well, harmoniously, and happily—at least, this is how it appears to a person operating at a low level of processing the planet and its trine to the Sun. In reality, karma grants the planetary principle a victorious path, provided it is worked through; moreover, the person’s will, when directed toward the planetary principle, easily finds a constructive direction—if the person so desires. If, however, the person wishes to exploit the principle of the planet, their will will encounter no resistance. Therefore, one should not assume that a Sun trine signifies the prosperity of the planetary principle; with equal success, it may indicate its decay (albeit under a beautiful facade) if the person’s will is directed toward predatory consumption and irrational use.

In this sense, the Sun–Moon trine is particularly dangerous, especially with a strong Sun, as it allows for the reckless exploitation of health for the sake of the person’s will—something that, in practice, often translates to the will of a rigid egregore. Overall, the interpretation of a trine in general, and especially a Sun trine, depends on the level of its processing. At a low level, with an ego-driven will, the person will soon encounter the unpleasant effect that external imperative circumstances, superficially and superficially, appear to support the planetary principle, while internally—essentially—they do not foster growth but instead lead to stagnation, leaving the person hopeless.

Conversely, active processing and development of the planetary principle will find strong support from karma, which will seem entirely natural to the person but will be the result of their volitional efforts, reinforced by the planet’s trine. Here, it is crucial not to stop, as the creative and supportive influence of the trine ends the moment the person’s constructive volitional effort weakens, transforming into a predatory one—i.e., forcibly extracting harmony from the environment and appropriating it in a form that holds no interest for them.

In the spheres governed by the planet, it is dangerous to provoke this person: the force that sustains harmony around them will show no mercy. When interpreting this trine, it is also important to consider the relative strength of the Sun and the planet, though this should be assessed not only through the horoscope but also in light of the person’s specific life circumstances. In any case, the person will sincerely believe that their will and initiative in the realm of the planetary principle are flawless, and it will be nearly impossible to convince them otherwise.

A Venus trine: Love is such a good thing that it is incomprehensible how it could bring any trouble. A Venus trine grants social protection and luck in the areas governed by the planet, swift and effortless recognition that the person takes for granted and, deep down, values little—unless there are other moments of self-assertion in their life. The Venus trine lends the planetary principle a natural taste and a keen perception of reality, often excessively harmonious: all ugliness becomes imperceptible or significantly smoothed over, and a desperate cry for help may sound to the person like a weak and non-binding request.

This aspect (even a Venus–Pluto trine) makes love a natural state for the person in the areas governed by the planet. However, at a low level, the person tends to extract this love from the surrounding space (and people), using it for personal gain—though externally, everything may appear perfectly decent, natural, and even strangely thoughtless, as if the person were merely a lotus flower adorning the world simply because it exists and cannot do otherwise. For example, a Venus–Pluto trine at a low level of processing results in an abundance of fatal infatuations in which the person often emerges unscathed, adorned with a fleeting bouquet of flowers of pleasure, while the victims (and, of course, their own lower passions) willingly and repeatedly fall prey to their infatuations.

When worked through, this aspect grants a keen insight into the flaws and vices of the beloved (and, naturally, of oneself), which the person can pinpoint and almost painlessly help overcome—this being the karmic program of the aspect. Admittedly, few partners can endure such a program for long, though it may prove highly constructive over a short period. The person themselves, however, can hardly expect satisfactory emotional relationships in love, and if they also have, for instance, a square to Uranus or an opposition to Saturn, they should not count on a conventionally happy marriage.

At a low level, the Venus trine fosters social (and romantic) laziness and parasitism, often manifesting as total ingratitude toward people and life for everything they do for the person—something that usually goes unnoticed by others but, in pronounced cases, is experienced as a harsh blow.
