Jupiter’s trine: The holiday of possibilities opening up is overshadowed by the mourning of their realization. Jupiter’s trine is a natural wish for the New Year, or free harmonious abundance that in a person’s life is often better as a wish than as an embodiment. The matter is that, alongside harmony and stability, the trine carries an element of banality, and if it is not worked through, it can also bring boredom and greyness. Thus, with a Mercury trine to any planet, a person will have, alongside quick-wittedness, a sense of deep mediocrity in all their thoughts, and breaking through it is truly difficult (even with a Mercury–Uranus trine, when extreme originality and eccentricity of thought, upon closer inspection, most often turn out to be alien). Similarly, Jupiter’s trine provides general protection in the spheres of the planet, always keeping a large embroidered bag of shining possibilities, alternative exits from difficult situations, and generous patrons ready to smile and open their purses at the first request… but to the consumer, all this seems somehow unreal, even though it sometimes pulls a person out of genuine trouble. Here, it is very important to understand that this harmonious coincidence of circumstances and broad opportunities are needed not for the person themselves, but for the planetary principle, for their development and working through—both within the person and in the external world. In other words, Jupiter’s trine is the aspect of Father Frost, who freely gives gifts to children, and if he is attentive and selfless enough, his bag never empties, and extraordinary gifts will occasionally appear in it; but if he directs all gifts exclusively to himself, the bag gradually loses its shine, and the gifts grow dull… and, most importantly, the person develops a strong subconscious dissatisfaction with themselves and their fate, which is often rationalized in the form of projection: “I do everything for others, and people and the world in general repay me with black ingratitude.” It should be noted that it is precisely consumption and ingratitude (toward people and fate) that are characteristic of a low level of working through Jupiter’s trine, yet the person themselves will never agree with this.
Chiron’s trine: Words like children—playing effortlessly only by themselves. Chiron’s trine gives a person, in the spheres of the planet’s influence, an amazing freshness of perception of the world and their own manifestations. They somehow manage to look at things in an unusual yet very convincing way and show them to others, so forgetting or suppressing what has been seen is quite difficult. Often, this aspect grants a peculiar sense of humor and the ability to entertain those around them, sometimes thoroughly confusing and perplexing them, which brings the person great satisfaction. At a high level, this aspect provides penetration and development of the planet’s principle, which seems incredible to contemporaries but fundamental to the next generation: what Chiron reveals becomes foundational over time. At a low level, a person tends to exploit the Chiron trine without exerting themselves, growing accustomed to chaotic and surprising situations resolving themselves quickly and painlessly, often as a witty joke of fate. However, a person who believes they have fully understood Chiron’s humor and, especially, thinks that the influence of this planet will not touch them personally is deeply mistaken. When the humor of fate touches essential aspects of their own life (and the principles of planets always relate to such things), the person is often left with little to laugh about, desperately trying to understand what is happening to them. Yet an unworked-through Chiron trine does not provide this understanding, and although it usually offers an exit from the deadlock, the feeling remains that they are in a foreign country at a variety show, poorly understanding the language, vainly trying to grasp the comedian’s puns—while the entire audience is in stitches for no reason they can fathom.
