The Jupiter trine: the holiday of opportunities that open up is overshadowed by the mourning of their realization. The Jupiter trine is a natural desire for the New Year, or free harmonious abundance, which in a person’s life is often better as a wish than as an embodiment. The reason is that the trine, besides harmony and stability, carries an element of banality with it, and if it is not worked through, it can lead to boredom and dullness. For example, with a Mercury trine to any planet, a person will have, alongside cleverness, a deep sense of the mediocrity of their own thoughts, which is truly difficult to overcome (even with a Mercury-Uranus trine, when extreme originality and eccentricity of thought, upon closer examination, often turn out to be borrowed). Similarly, the Jupiter trine provides general protection in the areas governed by the planet, always ready with a large embroidered sack of brilliant opportunities, alternative solutions to difficult situations, benevolent patrons, and generous smiles upon the slightest request… but to the consumer, all of this seems fake, even though it sometimes saves a person from real trouble. It is crucial to understand that these harmonious coincidences and wide opportunities are not meant for the person themselves but for the planetary principle, for their development and working through—both within the person and in the external world. In other words, the Jupiter trine is like Santa Claus, who freely gives gifts to children, and if he is attentive and selfless, his sack never empties, and extraordinary gifts occasionally appear. But if he directs all gifts solely to himself, the sack gradually loses its sparkle, and the gifts grow dull… and, most importantly, the person develops a strong subconscious dissatisfaction with themselves and their fate, often rationalized in the form of projection: “I do everything for others, but people and the world in general repay me with black ingratitude.” It should be noted that consumption and ingratitude (toward people and fate) are characteristic of a low level of working through the Jupiter trine, yet the person themselves will never admit to it.
The Uranus trine: Genius, like mediocrity, is not moderate. Trines of higher planets provide a person with protection and stability in fate so elevated that it often goes unnoticed. They do not give something concrete, as trines of lower planets do, but rather a mystical, barely perceptible sense of benevolent attention—something akin to a guardian angel with an increased number of wings, the nature of which depends on the specific higher planet forming the trine. Uranus provides an unpredictable, original, inventive guardian angel, though one that is usually impractical. In reality, this is not the case, but the practicality of the Uranus trine can only be appreciated by someone who sees karma clearly: they will notice how a firm hand averts dire dangers on the horizon, even when ordinary people have no suspicion of them. The visible manifestations of the Uranus trine lie in the fact that a person receives completely unexpected ideas, emotions, impulses for action, and ways of perceiving in the areas governed by the planet. Often, these Uranian “trifles” are not inherently good (if they are not, they can easily be redirected to the external world and attributed to others in understanding the principle of the planet—through consistent and thorough work with the material). If a person is satisfied with the Uranian manifestations as they come, they stop understanding the subtler (and more meaningful) hints and interpreting the signs, and despite all outward eccentricity and unconventionality, they become quite banal and dull to themselves, unable to rise to the level of true creativity or crisis unpreparedness.
A moderate level of working through the trine can produce a talented scientist engaged in genuine science (in the areas determined by the planet), though primarily within traditional frameworks, without striving to undermine its foundations or lay them anew. At a high level, it grants exceptional genius in the corresponding planetary spheres, allowing one to harmoniously—almost without destruction—rebuild the situation on new principles, providing the strongest impetus for development or resolving a major karmic knot with minimal sacrifice.
