Square Sun – Neptune
(Transit. Sun → Natal Neptune)
Various sources for the child’s horoscope
Your child often finds it difficult to draw attention to themselves, may feel insecure about their abilities, and struggles to understand themselves, which can lead to deep embarrassment. They may retreat into their own created world. For adults interacting with such children, it is crucial to clearly distinguish between reality and what exists in their imagination. Care should be taken when selecting films, TV programs, or other entertainment, or at least watch them together with the child. The child may struggle to see their “real” father and might even disappear from view. They may perceive their father as almost saintly and feel profound disappointment upon realizing he is not.

Mistakes. Those inclined toward mysticism may consider themselves “chosen by the gods.” If the horoscope indicates a kind heart, they may indeed act as instruments of higher forces. With a strong Mercury and Saturn, individuals who do not believe in mysticism or gods may emerge. In a challenging horoscope, they may exhibit strange emotional desires or romantic inclinations—ranging from platonic love to unhealthy sensuality. Weakness of character. With a weak Saturn, there is a reluctance to take responsibility, comply with discipline, or face reality, instead retreating into a world of dreams.

Opposition, square: the person becomes a mystery to themselves, moving through life in a fog, relying on deceptive intuitive guidance. Their rules of conduct differ from the norm, and their actions often defy accepted rules and traditions. They tend to make mistakes—mistaking people and things, convinced they alone see things correctly. They are passionately drawn to mysteries, offering explanations that others find incomprehensible; it seems as though everything is happening somewhere else, not here. In extreme cases, this unreality becomes an escape from reality, culminating in a desire to retreat into an “artificial paradise”—alcohol, drugs, or daydreams. In some instances, the opposition of Sun and Neptune signifies perceiving the father figure as distant and elusive. If this aspect appears in a woman’s chart, it may influence her attitude toward men and her partner in particular: she may see him as entirely different from who he truly is, potentially creating complications in marital relationships.

Square Sun: Never blame the mirror under any circumstances. The square of the Sun places the planet under the impact of disharmonious impulses of the person’s will and imperative external circumstances. Naturally, the individual themselves does not tend to view their volitional expressions as disharmonious and, on a low level, will not recognize their own rudeness, harshness, or incompetence. However, they will keenly sense these qualities in their environment and other people when the planetary principle is activated. At the second or third level of working through the square, the person may feel as though external and internal enemies of the planetary principle exist solely to prevent, sometimes crudely, their ability to manifest. For example, with a square between the Sun and the Moon, the person may unwittingly make rude mistakes and behave tactlessly toward women, possibly fearing and disliking them in secret while simultaneously feeling a strong pull toward them, as their internal image of the mother-figure is significantly distorted and active. If the Sun is in Aries, aggression and sharpness may arise; if in Pisces, false positions and misguided initiatives with unpleasant consequences may follow, and so on. The person pays impersonal attention to what happens in the spheres of the planet; external initiative is only permitted when forced by circumstances, and even then in minimal measure, as it usually leads to disharmonious outcomes. From the perspective of inner development, this aspect is highly promising for acquiring true power over oneself in the planet’s sphere of influence and transitioning to service of a higher egregore, signifying a more creative and internally free life. With strong energy, one may attempt to master disharmonious external will and redirect it past themselves toward others—an aspect of black teachers, especially with a pronounced square of the Sun to higher planets. Working through it grants the ability to operate subtly, following barely perceptible instructions from a higher egregore, weaving the finest threads of karma, sometimes relating to distant futures. Square Neptune: One needs a great deal of inner honesty to recognize its absence. This is the most challenging aspect. The square of Neptune produces distorted meditations, often of a lower order, an inexplicable attraction to the planetary principle while simultaneously misunderstanding it—illusions and errors that the person finds hard to believe and even harder to let go of. Neptune deceives the person, the person deceives the world and themselves, then sees part of this deception and stops believing—just in case—in anything, including themselves, though not for long (or rather, partially), after which they deceive themselves and the world again, and the world deceives them in turn. This can lead to despair, vice, or, conversely, awaken a higher calling and summon the person to God. The outcome is difficult to predict, but in any case, the person must remain vigilant and never consider any achieved boundary as permanently conquered. If the lower nature predominates, it may feed on very base meditations (alcohol, drugs, family scandals, etc.), and re-educating it will not be easy. The square of Neptune–Saturn can provide a perverse pleasure in one’s inability to act, and the person may live for a long time in a cycle: brief concentrated effort ending in failure—prolonged meditation on their own worthlessness, with a masochistic undertone, likely dragging others into this cycle. (In general, the square of higher planets is an aspect of black teachers, especially with a mystical or psychological inclination.) Karmically, this aspect signifies the need to work through the theme of self-deception and lower meditations (“vices”) through the material of the planetary principle, whose activation makes the corresponding subconscious programs highly pronounced. Working through this is complex and requires abandoning all lower meditations (including sweet self-accusations) and consistently engaging in honest, constructive work in areas related to the planet; involving Pluto and, to some extent, working through Saturn can help. At a high level, the person grasps the subtlest manifestations of the planetary principle and its connection to the principle of cosmic love as it manifests in external reality and the souls of specific people, which can make them a mystic, preacher, or saint—but they will not be freed from the irrational feeling of guilt toward the world in the planet’s spheres.

Mistakes. Those inclined toward mysticism may consider themselves chosen by a divine entity to gain respect and significance. If the horoscope indicates a kind heart, they may act as instruments of higher forces. With strong Mercury and Saturn, this tendency is mitigated. Strange emotional desires and romantic inclinations often arise—from platonic love to unhealthy, degrading physical sensuality. Secret, often shameful, love affairs. An overactive imagination fuels desires that can lead to self-destructive actions. Hence, weakness of character, distorted perception of reality, retreat into a dream world, reluctance to take responsibility, and resistance to discipline. A strong Saturn saves the day. Caution is needed regarding involvement in cults or occultism; these should be avoided. Their motives and the character of people associated with the chart owner must be scrutinized. Unreliable and unwise financial ventures should be avoided, as plans for quick wealth are doomed to failure.

It creates strong subjectivity, fanaticism, obsession, inadequacy, immersion in one’s inner world, in one’s feelings, a tendency to act on inner impulses while ignoring real circumstances. In such aspects, Neptune brings heightened sensitivity, a risk of neuroses and psychoses, susceptibility to negative influences, a tendency to indulge oneself, to go with the flow, and to fall prey to temptations. Untidiness, carelessness, reluctance to deal with mundane matters or daily life—hence, disorder at home or, conversely, excessive attention to cleanliness. Neptune is also associated with a bohemian lifestyle (theft, deception, fortune-telling). Furthermore, Neptune—the planet of deception—promotes a tendency to deceive others or to deceive oneself; bohemianism, indecisiveness, duality, ambiguity, mistakes, and a propensity for intrigue and lies. The positive side of these aspects includes a stimulus toward high spirituality, the ability to achieve great spiritual accomplishments, the capacity to sacrifice personal interests for a higher spiritual cause; it develops attention to detail, psychological insight, compassion for the unfortunate, and a desire to help them.
