Sun – Neptune Square
(Transit. Sun → Natal Neptune)
Various sources for the child’s horoscope
Your child often struggles to get attention and may feel insecure about their abilities. They find it difficult to understand themselves, which can lead to deep confusion. At such times, they may retreat into their own created world. For adults interacting with such children, it is crucial to clearly distinguish between reality and what exists in their imagination. Careful selection of films, TV programs, and other entertainment is necessary, or at least watching them together with the child. The child may struggle to see their “real” father and might even disappear. They may idealize their father, viewing him almost as a saint, only to feel disappointed when they realize he is not.

Mistakes. Those inclined toward mysticism may consider themselves “chosen by the gods.” If the horoscope indicates a kind heart, they may indeed act as instruments of higher forces. With a strong Mercury and Saturn, they become people who do not believe in any mysticism or gods. In a challenging horoscope, they may exhibit strange emotional desires or romantic tendencies—from platonic love to unhealthy sensuality. Weakness of character. With a weak Saturn, there is a reluctance to take responsibility, submit to discipline, or even retreat into a world of dreams.

Opposition, square: a person becomes a mystery to themselves, moving through life in a fog, relying on deceptive intuitive guidance. Their rules of conduct differ from the general ones, and their actions often do not align with accepted norms and traditions. They tend to make mistakes, misjudge people and things, convinced that only they see everything correctly. They are passionately drawn to mysteries, and their explanations are incomprehensible to others—it seems as though everything happens somewhere else, not here. In extreme cases, this unreality becomes an escape from reality, culminating in a desire to retreat into an “artificial paradise”—alcohol, drugs, or mere daydreams. In some cases, the opposition between the Sun and Neptune signifies perceiving the father figure as distant and elusive. If this aspect appears in a woman’s chart, it may influence her attitude toward men and her partner: she may see him as entirely different from who he truly is, potentially creating complications in marital relationships.

Sun square: Never blame the mirror under any circumstances. The Sun square subjects the planet to the impact of disharmonious impulses of human will and imperative external circumstances. Naturally, the person themselves does not tend to consider their volitional expressions as disharmonious, and at a low level, they will not notice their own rudeness, harshness, or incompetence. However, they will keenly sense these qualities in their environment and other people when the planet’s principle is activated. At the second or third level of processing the square, the person may feel as though external and internal enemies of the planet’s principle exist solely to prevent its expression, sometimes in a crude form. For example, with the Sun square to the Moon, a person may involuntarily make rude mistakes and be tactless in their interactions with women, possibly fearing and disliking them in secret while simultaneously feeling a strong attraction due to a distorted and active inner image of the mother-figure. If the Sun is in Aries, aggression and sharpness may manifest; if in Pisces, false positions and misguided initiatives with unpleasant consequences may arise, and so on. The person pays impersonal attention to what happens in the planet’s spheres; external initiative is only allowed when forced by circumstances and to a minimal extent, as it usually leads to disharmonious outcomes. From the perspective of inner development, this aspect is highly promising for acquiring true power over oneself in the planet’s sphere of influence and transitioning to service for a higher egregore, signifying a more creative and internally free life. With good energy, one can attempt to master the disharmonious external will and redirect it past oneself toward others—an aspect of black teachers, especially with a pronounced Sun square to higher planets. Working through it grants the ability to act subtly, following barely audible instructions from a higher egregore, weaving delicate threads of the finest karma, sometimes relating to a distant future. Neptune square: A great deal of inner honesty is required to recognize its absence. This is the most challenging aspect. The Neptune square distorts meditations, often of a lower order, creates an inexplicable attraction for the person of the planet’s principle while simultaneously fostering a poor or false understanding of it—illusions and mistakes that the person finds hard to believe and even harder to let go of. Neptune deceives the person, who then deceives the world and themselves, later seeing part of this deception and ceasing to trust—just in case—in anything, including themselves, though not for long (or rather, partially), after which they deceive themselves and the world again, and the world deceives them in turn. This can lead to despair, vices, or, conversely, awaken a higher calling and draw the person toward God. The outcome is difficult to predict, but in any case, the person must remain vigilant and never consider any achieved boundary as permanently conquered. In its lower expression, this aspect can feed on very impure meditations (at the level of alcohol, drugs, family scandals, etc.), and re-educating it is not easy. The Neptune–Saturn square can provide a perverse pleasure in one’s inability to act, leading the person to live in a cycle: brief concentrated effort ending in failure—prolonged meditation on their own worthlessness, with a masochistic undertone, likely drawing others into this cycle. (In general, the square of higher planets is an aspect of black teachers, especially with a mystical or psychological inclination.) Karmically, this aspect signifies the need to work through the theme of self-deception and lower meditations (“vices”) through the material of the planet’s principle, whose activation makes the corresponding subconscious programs highly pronounced. Processing this is complex; it requires abandoning all lower meditations (including sweet self-accusations) and consistently engaging in honest constructive work in the areas related to the planet. Involving Pluto and, to some extent, working through Saturn can help. At a high level, the person comprehends the subtlest manifestations of the planet’s principle and its connection to the principle of cosmic love as it manifests in external reality and the souls of specific people. This can make them a mystic, preacher, or saint, but they will not be freed from an irrational sense of guilt toward the world in the planet’s spheres.

Mistakes. Those inclined toward mysticism may consider themselves chosen by a divine entity to gain respect and significance. If the horoscope indicates a kind heart, they may act as instruments of higher forces. With strong Mercury and Saturn, this tendency is mitigated. Strange emotional desires and romantic inclinations often arise—from platonic love to unhealthy, degrading physical sensuality. Secret, often shameful, love affairs. An overactive imagination fuels desires that can lead to self-destructive actions. Hence, weakness of character, distorted perception of reality, retreat into a dream world, reluctance to take responsibility, and resistance to discipline. A strong Saturn saves the day. Caution is needed regarding involvement in cults or occultism; these should be avoided. The motives and nature of people associated with the horoscope owner must be carefully examined. Unreliable and irrational financial ventures should also be avoided, as plans for quick wealth are doomed to failure.
S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of Planets
This aspect creates great subjectivity, fanaticism, obsession, irrationality, immersion in one’s inner world, one’s own feelings, a tendency to act on inner impulses while ignoring real circumstances. In such aspects, Neptune brings heightened sensitivity, a risk of neuroses and psychoses, a tendency toward negative influences, self-indulgence, going with the flow, and succumbing to temptations. It can manifest as untidiness, carelessness, reluctance to deal with mundane matters or daily life, leading to chaos at home—or, conversely, excessive attention to cleanliness. Neptune is also linked to a bohemian lifestyle (theft, deception, fortune-telling). Furthermore, as the planet of deception, it fosters a tendency to deceive others or oneself; bohemianism, indecisiveness, duality, ambiguity, mistakes, and a propensity for intrigue and lies. On the positive side, this aspect stimulates a drive toward high spirituality, the capacity for profound spiritual achievements, and the ability to sacrifice personal interests for a higher spiritual cause. It also sharpens attention to details, enhances psychological insight, compassion for the unfortunate, and a desire to help them.
