Jupiter square: True greatness requires no proof, only measure. Jupiter square promises the planet much… unfortunately, most often, these promises remain unfulfilled. In the areas governed by the planet, the person feels their greatness—not only potential but actual—but those around them, as a rule, do not see it or doubt it, while the first somehow never manages to manifest. Jupiter square grants the planet expansion, but not in the way the person desires: either in the wrong direction, or in a style alien to them, or simply not what they expected; at least, that is how it seems to the person. This square (which can be called the aspect of Lucifer) fosters the temptation of pride, superficiality, and the too-easy acquisition of what is not entirely what the person truly wants, nor what they need for evolutionary development. In the areas governed by the planet, the person displays a constant superficial interest in “higher matters,” philosophical generalizations, and abstract-religious approaches, but tends to stop precisely at the point where something truly important and meaningful begins—something that does not come as a lavish gift, but as effort. For example, a Venus-Jupiter square with a strong Jupiter may produce a person who attracts a great deal of love at first glance, appearing beautiful, interesting, and unusual, but in actual romantic relationships, they prove to be entirely self-absorbed, consumed by their own beauty and grandiosity, and utterly incapable (and unwilling) to spare even a fleeting thought for the hopelessness of social (let alone emotional or sexual) connections—though arrogance does not diminish. Karma-wise, this aspect demands that the person learn to handle the gifts and doors of fate that open before them with extreme care and mindfulness, understanding that they imply further work and are ultimately meant for the world, not for the individual. At a low level, the person tends to (if there is even the slightest opportunity) play the role of a generous benefactor, which they execute poorly, as their self-interest and inadequacy or uselessness of their “gifts” are transparently visible, and their overall clumsiness provokes more irritation than pity or gratitude (the latter being rare). Working through this aspect grants the rare ability to use one’s luck karmically correctly, abandoning false opportunities and temptations to receive the priceless gift of true spiritual aid, as well as the vision to see similar issues in others and the ability (in the areas governed by the planet) to guide another toward the true path by showing them the karmic role of their temptations and illusions. Uranus square: A mediocre talent craves moments of inspiration; a great one craves moments of rest from it. Squares involving higher planets produce an effect that lasts for a year, and fighting it is futile—indeed, harmful, as behaving incorrectly in the areas governed by the planet that is squared to a higher one can seriously harm both the individual and those around them. However, the person chooses how to relate to what is happening and how to perceive it—their so-called point of view: both the vantage point from which they observe and the perspective they adopt, and this choice largely determines their processing of squares to higher planets and, consequently, their fate within the framework of world karma. For example, a Venus-Uranus square not only fosters an irrepressible tendency toward eccentric and uncontrollable social behavior in the most suitable circumstances but also an inability to love a partner who does not change over time—the person grows unbearably bored. However, in response to this, one can either change partners every month or change one’s perspective on the same person daily, discovering something fundamentally new in them, though the latter is far more difficult. In general, the Uranus square grants the planet genius at the edge of normality (sometimes beyond it), but it can be very difficult to constructively implement Uranian ideas and revelations. The person must strive to understand the meaning of their eccentricity, learn to read Uranian signs in the planet’s manifestations, and then they may begin to partially perceive the intricate pattern of karma woven around them—and perhaps reveal to the world something previously unseen, incomprehensible, and impossible, yet real. The manifestations of the Uranus square cannot be understood—they can only be accepted and learned to work with, but even with all the luck and effectiveness of their applications, the person will retain the impression that they are using a cannon to shoot sparrows, while the worthy Uranian goal remains invisible. The Uranus square offers excellent opportunities to throw a wrench in the works for others, and if the person sets out to obstruct evil and involutionary programs, they may become very inventive in this. Unfortunately, this square is most often used, on the contrary, to disrupt the evolutionary flow, creating eddies within it—karmic knots—through which, of course, the creativity of the Absolute manifests, but the person through whom this creativity is realized becomes a black teacher. However, the fate of the individual is not indifferent to the level at which and how this black teaching occurs, whether as a critic, informant, or executioner, so the manifestations of the Uranus square should be approached with care, as even minor accents (including one’s internal attitude toward what is happening) can have far-reaching consequences.
