Mars – Jupiter Opposition
(Transit Mars → Natal Jupiter)
Different sources for the child’s horoscope
Your child is very energetic, prone to exaggeration, and sometimes stubborn. They love sports, are confident in themselves, and confident in victory, getting frustrated when they don’t see immediate results from their efforts. They need help developing discipline. This open and generous child is ready to share their energy with others. Their challenges may lie in overly intense expressions of their energy through anger, force, and rage. They struggle to relax. Parents should not punish the child for excessive displays of strength or anger but instead show them how such negative expressions can hurt others and provide opportunities for the child to channel their physical energy into appropriate sports.

Opposition, square: instead of energy, there is aggression that disregards laws, order, and rules. Such a person only feels comfortable in conflict; they constantly expose someone’s hypocrisy or principles without concern for the harm their criticism may cause. They are full of bravado, insist on being in power, are highly sensitive, and hate being held accountable for their actions. They see themselves as an executor of the most important mission and constantly seek to lecture others.

Mars opposition: Once you overcome an external enemy, watch as it becomes internal; once you subdue the internal one, observe how it externalizes. The planet in opposition to Mars will constantly experience a forceful influence, and it will be difficult for the person to establish harmony with this force. If the main emphasis is on the planet, and the person somewhat identifies with its principle, the external environment quickly becomes aggressive and begins to strongly interfere. If they start actively resisting it, they soon get used to the struggle and, forgetting their original plans, reaccentuate the opposition, causing Mars to become internally emphasized while the planet’s principle loses its significance for the person, transferring into the external world and taking on the role of an enemy, as described by the well-known saying, “What you fought for.” For example, in the case of Mars opposing Saturn, one cannot fight for discipline—only by honestly striving to be disciplined, even with minimal effort, can they avoid major troubles, external restrictions (Saturn’s lower octave), and the triumph of internal chaos. Here, the problem often lies in the fact that the person feels strength only through external manifestations of the planet’s principle but tends to fight against it. Once they conquer and internalize the planet, they lose their strength entirely, and the most painful and incomprehensible moments are precisely those imperceptible turning points of the opposition. Working through it grants stable strength to the planet’s expressions, including those vibrations it needs, giving the person great confidence and the ability to balance even the most acute and tense situations (related to the planet’s principle and the houses where it and Mars are located, as well as the aspects of these planets). At a low level, and especially if Mars is afflicted, its opposition can produce destructive aggression in both the person and their surroundings. In such cases, it’s important to remember that the instability of the opposition—frequent, uncontrolled shifts in emphasis between the planets—indicates poor processing of it. Conversely, systematic work to track and consciously manage the energies is the most effective way to achieve stability and harmony with oneself and the world.
Jupiter opposition: If, by admiring others, we identify with them, then by admiring ourselves, we project onto someone else. The opposition to Jupiter gives the planet (and the person in the areas governed by it) a sense of extraordinary importance. Indeed, working through such an opposition grants the planet an exceptionally stable (karmic) privileged position and opportunities for expanding its principle, which constantly arise both in the person’s life and in the lives of those connected to them. However, at a low level, there is no constructive interaction between the Jupiterian and planetary principles, and depending on the emphasis in the opposition, the person falls into one of two positions. It is naturally more pleasant when the emphasis is on Jupiter, and the person internally feels like a wealthy potential benefactor of those they deem worthy. However, the planet’s principle is lost in their arrogance, gradually externalizing and beginning to act against the person themselves. For example, Jupiter opposing Venus may produce a talented and highly erudite art critic, but at a lower level of processing the aspect, the person will only imagine (yet with full inner conviction) that they have a brilliant understanding of art (and love), constantly imposing their judgments and pompously disturbing others. (A pronounced Jupiter opposition, such as its opposition to a stellium, can, alongside great opportunities and abilities and strong patrons, also bring complete blindness to one’s own greatness, insane arrogance, and a total lack of self-criticism.) If the emphasis is on the planet, it activates various temptations, but the work on the aspect lies in expanding internal potential. For instance, in the case of Venus opposing Jupiter, this alternative with an emphasis on Venus might look like this: either external fame, exhibitions, public and international activities, or a shift in creative direction (mastered style or technique) and the development of something new. Jupiter opposing Saturn may, at some point, present the person with a choice: either rigid control over numerous subordinates or the development and mastery of vast areas of inner space. Both may be needed in life, but it’s important not to confuse these stages of biography.
