Opposition of Uranus: As a rule, the Lord expresses His wrath personally, and when hands are lowered, we resort to the services of people. The opposition of Uranus presents the Planet with the difficult task of reconciling with the principles of extraordinary events, suddenness, brilliant insights, and powerful energy. Therefore, it is natural for a person to try to identify with the Planet’s principle, as a result of which Uranus’ manifestations often occur externally in the form of unexpected external events and effects, not always friendly (in areas related to the Planet), which, in addition to their direct meaning, must be learned to interpret as karmic signs. Sometimes (for the average person, this is a strong experience), the accents in the opposition do shift to the opposite, and for a time the main emphasis is placed on Uranus. During this period, unusual things may happen to a person (or come from them), thoughts about the world and oneself can shift sharply, and there may be revelations and penetration into the depths of the subconscious. However, it is difficult to sustain Uranian energy (and its mental impulses) for long, and temporary madness either ends on its own with a reverse shift of accents to the opposing planets, or continues under the supervision of psychiatrists who balance the Uranian opposition with psychotropic drugs—a crude and far from the only means, especially if one tries to relieve the tension with them. The opposition of Uranus gives the Planet brilliant ideas that initially seem completely incompatible not only with its principle but, more importantly, with the current circumstances of its manifestation in a person’s life. In an unworked-out version, a person either fully submits to these ideas (risking their life, psyche, and career) or completely ignores them (especially if the Planet is afflicted). Working through this involves adapting these ideas to the Planet’s principle, which gives it brilliance, originality, and strength. At a high level, the opposition of Uranus grants a person stable creative abilities and genius insights in the areas governed by the Planet, as well as the ability to see and influence national and planetary karma.

Opposition of Neptune: Lies are never a seasoning—they are always the main course. At a low level, the opposition of Neptune raises the issue of external and internal lies and self-deception in the areas governed by the Planet; here, the theme of lower meditations also arises—that is, vices governed by the Planet. By emphasizing Neptune, a person may derive pleasure from the lowest manifestations of the Planet in the external world, and self-deception can be so strong that the person does not even recognize that they are participating in something bad, unworthy, or immoral. Conversely, by emphasizing the principle of the Planet, a person will encounter deception and misunderstanding in the external world and will be genuinely surprised by what is happening, not realizing that internal dishonesty, self-deceptions, and deceptions of others create a cloud of the lower octave of Neptune around them, and the world begins to deceive them. For example, with an opposition of Mars to Neptune (at a low level, this is a very dangerous aspect), a person may internally enjoy any external activity, especially aggression, completely failing to notice its destructive consequences for peace and other people. Later, the situation will turn slightly, and the aggression of the external world will turn against them, while Neptune will produce an effect of complete incomprehension, offense, and injustice regarding what is happening to them—all with a sweet aftertaste of lower Neptunian meditation of a masochistic type. Then (oh horror!) the accents of the opposition shift to the opposite, distorting external reality, meaning the person will decisively lose understanding of other people, and internally, destructive Martian self-aggression may begin, possibly with a sharp sense of guilt and repentance that the external world will categorically not understand or accept. Then the accents shift again. Working through this is difficult, as it requires deep, intimate, and essential changes in a person’s attitude toward the Planet’s principle—they must learn to understand and love it and be honest with themselves and the external world in the relevant areas, at least not lying outright. For example, an opposition of Neptune to the Ascendant (i.e., Neptune conjunct the Descendant) requires a person to stop lying to their partners and open enemies (which they are very inclined to do), or they will never escape the cloud of general lies and false positions. At a high level of working through this aspect, a person gains stable, subtle, and deep understanding of the Planet’s principle, the ability for high meditations in its areas, which they can then carefully and thoughtfully convey to others.
