Uranus opposition: Usually, the Lord expresses His anger personally, and when He becomes weary, He uses people as instruments. The opposition of Uranus places before the Planet a difficult task of coming to terms with the principles of extraordinariness, suddenness, brilliant illumination, and powerful energy. It is therefore natural for a person to attempt identification with the planetary principle, as a result of which manifestations of Uranus most often come from outside, in the form of unexpected external events and effects—far from always friendly (in areas related to the Planet)—which, besides their direct meaning, should also be learned to interpret as signs of karma. Sometimes (for the average person, this is a strong experience), the emphasis in the opposition does shift to the opposite, and the main focus temporarily moves onto Uranus. During this time, the most extraordinary things and events may happen to and through the person, their worldview and self-perception may shift sharply, and illuminations as well as penetrations into the depths of the subconscious may occur. However, it is difficult to sustain Uranian energy (and its mental impulses) for long, and temporary madness either ends by itself through a reverse shift of emphasis back to the opposing planets, or continues under the supervision of psychiatrists who balance the Uranus opposition with psychotropic drugs—a crude and far from the only method, though one that can be actively used to relieve excess tension. The Uranus opposition gives the Planet brilliant ideas that initially seem utterly incompatible not only with its own principle, but rather with the current circumstances of its manifestation in the person’s life; in the unprocessed variant, the person either completely submits to these ideas (at risk to life, psyche, and career) or completely ignores them (especially if the Planet is afflicted). Processing occurs through adapting these ideas to the planetary principle, thereby endowing it with brilliance, originality, and power. At a high level, the Uranus opposition grants the person stable creative abilities and genius insights in the areas ruled by the Planet, as well as perception of and influence upon national and planetary karma. Chiron opposition: By going too deeply within yourself, you risk emerging on the opposite side. The Chiron opposition presents the Planet with two primary tasks: qualitative expansion of its principle and its materialization in moments previously considered subtle, most refined, and entirely elusive. At a low level, however, Chiron brings not expansion or materialization, but chaos and dead-end development. If at this moment the emphasis in the opposition lies on the Planet, and the person identifies with its principle, Chiron manifests its presence in the external world, creating in areas related to the Planet incredible bustle, disorder, unimaginable (often highly original) obstacles and dead ends, the meaning and cause of which the person cannot grasp—until they revise their views on the Planet’s principle and master it in a much broader version, effectively moving to the next level of Planet processing. If they fail to do so, external circumstances unfold such that the person loses identification with the Planet’s principle, which then becomes externalized and appears in the outer world, beyond former boundaries of reach (as when a pilot becomes an airport worker), and the main emphasis in the opposition shifts to Chiron, which, having established itself within the inner world, brings rigidity of established views and often a sense of inner blind alley, accompanied by despair. Processing here proceeds through accepting and mastering the planetary principle in alignment with Chiron’s paradoxes, while it plays out in the external world—thereby granting the Planet (and the person in its areas of influence) extraordinary, reality-defying possibilities and talents whose compelling force will astonish everyone (including the person themselves). A well-integrated Chiron is highly material, and processing its opposition yields an interesting variant of talent: stable, unconventional perception and creativity in areas related to the Planet. For example, processing the opposition of Chiron to Pluto (which will cost the person dearly) bestows extraordinary critical abilities; it is very difficult to dismiss or repress this person’s remarks—they may be sharp and witty, yet so precise, fair, and convincing. For true processing of an opposition to Chiron, deep inner work and mastery of conscious control over subconscious programs related to the Planet’s spheres of influence are required.
