Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Sun Decile: Was the creation of man a humanistic act? This aspect raises in a person’s life the issue of humanity in their own acts of will and initiatives, as well as (usually weak) imperative influences of fate within the sphere governed by the Planet. In this sphere, the individual will be relatively free, and will need to regulate their will based on considerations of humanism—as they understand it. At the very least, the thought of humanity, or this theme itself, will arise in connection with (usually faintly expressed) necessity to do something within the sphere of the planetary principle or to express a certain personal initiative there. With a well-aspected Sun, these initiatives will be appropriate and appear genuinely humane; with an afflicted Sun, the person will often be overly active, and the result, despite good intentions, will turn out unfortunate and discordant—especially if the Planet is afflicted, and its principle is difficult to satisfy. In such cases, external coercion over one’s will in the planet’s spheres will be experienced as utterly inhumane, although actual tangible harm in the planet’s domains will usually be minor. Mercury Decile: In order to express concern, one must actually possess it. In the planet’s spheres, a person’s thoughts and especially rational considerations will tend toward humanitarian aspects of the corresponding issues. Verbally, the individual will demand a humane approach and will be easily offended by what they perceive as harsh remarks from others, interpreting them as inhuman. However, in this case, the link between the planetary principle and Mercurial function is weak; thus, on one hand, negative manifestations related to Mercury (e.g., offensive words) have little direct impact on the spheres ruled by the planet, although the person may believe otherwise; on the other hand, Mercury’s positive influence on the individual and on human aspects of the corresponding planetary spheres has only a weak direct effect, though the person may not notice this. Therefore, they should either aim for subtle results or engage other planets, so as not to appear, from others’ perspective, an empty talker and demagogue who cares for others’ well-being in words only.
