There are realistic people who bravely and truthfully look at both the world and themselves, soberly assessing their capabilities. And there are lovers of building “castles in the air,” attributing qualities not inherent to them, taking desired for real, and always finding excuses for their failures.
By the way, such a position is, in a way, given to a person by nature, or rather, it is “guilty” of the birth date and, accordingly, the zodiac sign.
Aries
Conscious self-deception is a rare phenomenon for Aries. These are bold people who look soberly at the real world, with no “rose-colored glasses” or “castles in the air.” No matter what fate may be, it is unlikely anyone can convince an Aries that he is not the center of the universe. The center! And the whole world should revolve around him! Aries who refuse to “spin” punish those who have offended them, first taking offense. Friends leave, but Aries does not draw conclusions.
To protect their hypertrophied self-love, they sometimes lie to themselves. It is a difficult task for an Aries to admit their mediocrity or the mistakes they have made. They find it easier to convince themselves that they are not to blame for the failure and to attack whoever dared to expose their imperfections.
Taurus
Taurus, as true masters, skillfully use self-deception as a tool. If something troubles them, they consciously convince themselves that they just need to wait a little longer, because everything will change soon. Figuratively speaking, they cover reality with a veil and begin to actively act, looking for a way out of the unpleasant situation that has arisen. This is not outright lying; it is abstraction that “blocks” negative emotions so they do not interfere with their productive work in correcting what does not suit them.
Taurus do not ponder over an “alternative reality,” as their current life suits them perfectly. They skillfully use many qualities given by their zodiac sign to their advantage, so self-deception is not necessary for them (only an exceptional case can force them to resort to it).
Gemini
They lie to themselves (more often) and to others. These are lovers of pulling all the details, postponing the fulfillment of their own promises and obligations to a long box—they prefer to think that problems will resolve themselves, meaning they do not have to make an effort. If a failure occurs, anyone but a Gemini will be to blame. They sincerely consider themselves victims of circumstances, shifting the blame onto others.
From infancy, Geminis are convinced of their uniqueness, that they possess some special superpowers, which they pompously announce to the world. It is futile to expose them, urge them to change their behavior tactics, or force them to remove the “rose-colored glasses” through which they view the world.
Cancer
Self-deception is a shield that they use to hide from pain, the source of which can be the real world. This is a useful trait for them because, “thanks” to their psychological and emotional instability, Cancer would not be able to simply survive without self-deception. From childhood, they define their role (an unshakable, confident, strong, and self-sufficient person) and, deceiving themselves (important: themselves, not others!), they consistently play the chosen role throughout their lives.
This is an incredibly sensitive sign that acutely perceives the imperfections of the surrounding world and its betrayal, and to cope with this negativity, Pisces lie to themselves. Leo
True masters of self-deception. Their egocentrism is more than just developed. This trait does not even allow them to imagine that life can unfold differently from their planned script. They live in their personal reality—a cozy and warm one. People who try to pull them out of this alternative world immediately join the list of personal enemies. This is an amazingly talented zodiac sign that has created its own personal universe. And everyone (except the staff who serve them) can enjoy the fruits of their labors.
They are fully aware of events that do not follow the general script. However, thanks to reality, which obediently dances to their tune, they can live for many years according to the scenario they have written for themselves. But negative consequences are possible for them when they return to the real world. Although the situation is even sadder for Leos who try to live courageously without illusions. Aquarius
They are maximalists, which does not prevent them from using self-deception as a convenient form of existence. If something does not suit them, they consciously close their eyes to it, pretending that there are no problems. They build walls between their consciousness and reality.
If reality does catch up with Aquarius, it is time for the next stage of denial of reality. They cling firmly to the past, thinking they can find support and confirmation there that the record can be played backward and everything will change, returning life to its former place. This is an illusion from which it is difficult for them to break free. This sign is courageous, and it is this quality that helps resolve the negative situation that has arisen.
Pisces
Self-deception and illusion walk hand in hand with Pisces, starting from the youngest age. In reality, a dull and uncomfortable life is better lived in an invented reality where everything is comfortable and in perfect order. Often, Pisces devotedly tell their acquaintances about their imaginary friends and non-existent lovers—so convincingly that they begin to believe it themselves. They attribute advantages to others that they do not possess.
And yet, the “alternative reality” is not their main concept. They also do quite well in the material world. They often make excellent careerists. They resort to self-deception as a tool to reconcile themselves with the aspects of life that do not suit them.
