Photo: DepositPhotos.com There are realistic people who bravely and truthfully look at both the world and themselves, soberly assessing their capabilities. And there are lovers of building “castles in the air,” attributing qualities not inherent to them, taking desired for real, and always finding excuses for their failures. By the way, such a position is partly given to a person by nature, or rather, the “guilty” birth date and, accordingly, the zodiac sign.
Aries
Conscious self-deception is a rare phenomenon for Aries. These are bold people who look soberly at the real world, no “rose-colored glasses” or “castles in the air.” No matter what fate may be, it is unlikely anyone will convince an Aries that he is not the center of the universe. The center! And the whole world should revolve around him! Aries who refuse to “revolve” punish others, having first taken offense at them. Friends leave, but Aries does not draw conclusions. To protect their hypertrophied self-esteem, they sometimes lie to themselves. It is a difficult task for an Aries to admit their mediocrity or the mistakes they have made. It is easier for them to convince themselves that they are not to blame for the failure and to attack whoever dared to expose their imperfection.
Taurus
Taurus, like true masters, skillfully use self-deception as a tool. If something worries them, they consciously convince themselves of the need to wait a little, because soon everything will change. Figuratively speaking, they cover reality with a veil and begin to actively act, searching for a way out of the unpleasant situation that has arisen. This is not outright lying; it is abstraction that “blocks” negative emotions so they do not interfere with their productive work in correcting what does not suit them. Taurus do not ponder over an “alternative reality,” since their current life suits them perfectly. They skillfully use many qualities given by their zodiac sign to their advantage, so self-deception is unnecessary for them (only an exceptional case can force them to resort to it).
Gemini
They lie to themselves (more often) and to others. These are lovers of pulling the cat by all the details, postponing the fulfillment of promises and obligations they have made to themselves—it is more pleasant for them to think that problems will resolve themselves, meaning they will not have to make an effort. In case of any failure, anyone but Gemini will be to blame. They sincerely believe they are victims of circumstances, shifting the blame onto others. From infancy, Gemini are convinced of their uniqueness, that they possess some special superpowers, which they pompously announce to the world. It is futile to expose them, urge them to change their behavior, or force them to remove the “rose-colored glasses” through which they view life.
Cancer
Self-deception is a shield for them, behind which they hide from pain, the source of which can be the real world. This is a useful trait for them because, “thanks” to their psychological and emotional instability, without self-deception, Cancer would not be able to simply survive. From childhood, they define their role (an unshakable, confident, strong, and self-sufficient person) and, deceiving themselves (important: themselves, not others!), they consistently play the chosen role throughout their lives. This is an incredibly sensitive sign that acutely perceives the imperfections of the surrounding world and its betrayal, and to cope with this negativity, Pisces lie to themselves. For them, self-deception is that life-saving shell that becomes a reliable shelter for their natural companion, the hermit crab. There, their restless psyche and tender heart find peace and protection.
Leo
True masters of self-deception. Their egocentrism is more than acceptable. This trait does not even allow them to imagine that life can unfold differently than they have planned. They live in their personal reality—a cozy and warm one. People who try to pull them out of this alternative world instantly join the list of personal enemies. This is an amazingly talented zodiac sign that has created its own personal universe. And everything (except the staff who serve them) can enjoy the fruits of their labors. They are fully aware of events that do not follow the general script. However, thanks to reality, which obediently dances to their tune, they can live for many years according to the scenario they have written for themselves. But for them, there can be negative consequences from returning to the real world. Although the picture is sadder for Leos who try to live courageously without illusions. For some reason, they cannot find an outlet for their innate talents, and as a result, they live a gray and gloomy life.
Virgo
Self-deception is rare for them. They believe it is better to clearly understand what is happening to you and what the future holds. This is a sign that adequately assesses itself and is able to take responsibility for its mistakes. Virgos are ready to correct what they have done wrong. They prefer to have a sober mind and a clear view of reality, unclouded by the lens of “rose-colored glasses.” Although such a position does not guarantee that they are protected from deception. It is true that Virgos do not consciously lie to themselves. This mission is taken over by their subconscious, character, and habits. They think that their behavior, based on adherence to rules, will be the key to a successful life. The mistake is made. Such their correctness affects others like a red flag to a bull. Therefore, people tormented by Virgo’s excessive pedantry, which poisons their lives, deliberately harm the representatives of this sign.
Libra
Mostly reflective Libras hide behind self-deception, which masks their fear—they are afraid of real life and taking responsibility for their mistakes. This is a superstitious sign—their failures are explained by bad omens, the wrong side of the wind, unlucky stars, and so on. They will find a mystical explanation for any failure. Thanks to such self-deception, they easily cope with difficult times and find the right solution to many problems. After all, superstitions are not only applied to negative forecasts; there are good omens and signs in which they also believe. Therefore, they easily convince themselves that the black streak will give way to a white one. And indeed, troubles disappear, making room for joy and other positive events. It turns out that for this sign, self-deception serves them well.
Scorpio
Their life is self-deception, and with a minus sign. Their excessive pessimism and demanding nature turn (in their eyes) their flaws into real vices. Temporary failures become tragedies of their entire life. This is in its own way a unique zodiac sign—their unconscious self-deception “guides” them; their reflexive lies are a source of torment. Scorpios do not know how to reflect; they tell everyone who will listen about how much they have suffered and what imaginary misfortunes befall them. However, they “cry on someone’s shoulder” for a specific purpose—Scorpios are usually sophisticated energy vampires who temporarily ease their inner torment by feeding on the sympathy of others.
Sagittarius
This sign strikes with self-deception through their confidence. There is a well-known position: “1. I am always right. 2. If I am not right, see point one.” And Sagittarians adhere to it. They are completely confident that they are unshakable. If reality occasionally slaps them in the face, they dust themselves off, show it the finger, and move on. They may be wrong about themselves, but this does not prevent Sagittarians from living, and “enlightenment” does not await them, as they are generously endowed by nature with real qualities that help them achieve their goals. Therefore, they do not need imaginary virtues. They have no habit of playing hide-and-seek with the real world.
Sagittarians do not admit or justify their mistakes to anyone, neither to others nor to themselves.
Capricorns
This is a zodiac sign that firmly stands on solid ground. Self-deception is impossible for them, even if it could bring relief and comfort to their lives. These are yet another group of zodiac signs who are not afraid to face the truth, who do not justify themselves, nor do they embellish their address with sweet lies. Sometimes they too “float in the clouds,” but their fantasies bring them only benefit. Capricorns may puzzle themselves with some practically unattainable goal. Then they imagine that the goal has been achieved, and under such pressure, reality is forced to yield, providing them with what they have strived for or passionately desired.
They are maximalists, which does not prevent them from using self-deception as a convenient way of life. If something does not suit them, they consciously close their eyes to it, pretending that no troubles exist. They build walls between their own consciousness and reality. If reality eventually catches up with Aquarians, it is time for the next stage of denial. They cling firmly to the past, hoping to find support and confirmation that the record can be played backward and everything will change, returning life to its former place. This is an illusion they find hard to let go of. This sign is courageous, and it is precisely this quality that helps resolve the negative situation that has arisen.
Pisces
Self-deception and illusion walk hand in hand with Pisces, starting from the youngest age. In reality, life is dull and uncomfortable, so it is better to live in a fabricated reality where everything is perfectly comfortable. Pisces often wholeheartedly tell their acquaintances about their imaginary friends and non-existent romantic partners—so convincingly that they begin to believe it themselves. They attribute qualities to others that they do not possess. And yet, “alternative reality” is not their main concept. They also do well in the material world. They often make excellent careerists. They resort to self-deception as a tool to reconcile with the aspects of life that do not suit them.
