Vedic astrology is the oldest knowledge of the Vedas, deeply rooted in the ancient culture of India. The entire Indian culture, its traditions and customs are based on the knowledge of the Vedas, the sacred scriptures. The word “Veda” means primordial knowledge in Sanskrit.
The teachings of the Vedas represent primordial knowledge that proclaims the Absolute Truth, above which there is nothing. The Vedas are not a product of human wisdom. This knowledge is infallible because it comes through a perfect chain of disciplic succession of spiritual teachers, beginning from the Supreme Spirit.
In our video “Vedic Astrology,” we discuss its philosophical, astrological, and religious tradition based on the key concepts of Vedic knowledge. When studying Vedic Astrology, one very important point should be kept in mind—Vedic astrology uses almost all the same symbols and combinations as modern Western astrology, that is, planets, stars, and their relationships, but they are most often interpreted in a completely different way. Hence the rule: never mix these two methods during practice, and under no circumstances should interpretations and rules from one system be transferred into the other.
