Ketu in Gemini
Avessalom Podvodny. Planets in the Signs of the Zodiac
Ketu in Gemini is the key word here: promise. Throughout many lives this individual has been entangled in duality, which has resulted in indecision. He has tried to be everything to everyone and, as a result, has set himself up for superficiality. Now he must learn the karmic lessons of devotion and fidelity. Ultimately, he will see that by playing both sides, he can only hope to become the filling in a sandwich. Yet within him lives the fear of past lives of committing to any one side, for at least on a superficial level he sees the truth and correctness in both. He still believes that by committing to one side, he will miss out on the favorable opportunity inherent in the other. This ability to remain uncommitted allows him to constantly adapt to meet the needs of the moment. He changes his colors like a chameleon. In past incarnations he was not overly selective, knowing that it really did not matter where he placed his “entry fee,” since he never gave himself fully. Now he swings like a pendulum in the wind, open at least for a brief time, but to any passing breeze. He deliberately makes himself a pawn and is even willing for a moment to agree with others in order to feel accepted and part of something. Throughout many lives his sense of self-identity has not become whole but has been filled with the questions of everyone with whom he has been in contact. Since so many people have shaped the bricks of this inner self, he can only be a hypocrite! The expression on his face, as well as the language of his body movements, changes from proposal to proposal, and the person assumes the image of those whose words he is now trying to pass off as his own. In fact, when he asserts something, his eyes are always carefully studying his interlocutor to see if it was accepted as truth. If not, he will try other assertions in the hope that somewhere in his collection of information a few words might ring true. He loves activity, and when circumstances back him into a corner, he becomes very nervous and restless. Always over-programmed, he tries to keep up with the countless details and people that fill his life. He has so much to do, yet at the end of each day feels he has strayed from his goal. In past incarnations he did not think for long, and now spends much of his life constantly changing his mind. At some point in his life the individual decides where to live—whether in a big city or in the countryside. This is a conflict between the need of his past life to be with people and the desire of his present life to be far from them. The direction of life is almost always indicated by parents or someone older. This usually happens after the age of 28. Yet he is very unstable; he has been so busy considering the shades of gray in everything that now it is difficult for him to see the light of truth within himself. For this individual the most important life task involves the search for higher knowledge. Through the North Node in Sagittarius he must learn that in order to see the truth, a person must first become true! He will go far if he learns to speak from his higher mind, for the esoteric meaning of everything he says will ultimately reveal his true individuality. When combined with transcendental thinking, he will achieve spiritual union within himself. First, he must carve a path through the karma of holding on to details and see that participation in gossip is the greatest sin against freedom. Then he must escape from the past residue of false refinement and achieve all that is real and natural. Ultimately he will come to understand that, although the coin has two sides, it is still one coin! When he develops this perspective, he will be able to transform the knowledge he has gained into Divine Wisdom. The position of the South Node in a house shows the area where the conflicts of past-life individuality still torment the lower mind. The position of the North Node in a house shows the ways in which Higher Consciousness can be developed into a means of expression and dissemination that allows one to rise above all conflicts. Evolution in this life will free him from the slavery of indecision and instead grant him glimpses of Universal Truth.
