Mercury conjunction: Anxiety arises both from the absence of thought and, in many cases, from its presence. Mercury gives the planet it is conjunct with a strong mental coloring, even when it is completely unnecessary or undesirable; for example, when Mercury is conjunct Venus in a romantic relationship, there will be so much calculation and rationality that any immediate feeling or living sensation will last very briefly, especially if Mercury is stronger than Venus. Unfortunately, mental coloring is not synonymous with intelligence, as it most often reduces to commonplace, flat ideas and stereotypes of collective consciousness and subconsciousness, which actively influence the planet’s principle, strongly schematizing and trivializing it. The person will, of course, feel this, but all attempts to rid themselves of this dead (each time in their own way) influence of Mercury on the planet by expanding the sphere of its manifestations (for example, seeking new lovers in the case of Venus) are doomed to failure, since the mind, though crude, is flexible and can adapt somehow. Working through the conjunction primarily involves processing Mercury, that is, realizing the role and meaning of mental activity as an energy flow and planetary principles that provide a general direction but do not replace them. This processing is complex because it requires a restructuring of thinking, abandoning rigid, linear social stereotypes, and transitioning to working with lighter and more flexible thought-forms capable of adequate interaction between the Cosmos and the planet’s principle. For example, Mercury conjunct Mars with a strong Mercury at a low level of processing turns a person into a virtual machine that must mentally model any active action before taking it, absolutely unable to trust the logic of their immediate energetic manifestations. Processing the aspect grants great creative abilities, manifested as subtle and inventive indirect mental control over the planet’s principle at the necessary moments.
Uranus conjunction: The greatness it creates is such that it can only fit into mania. This is not an easy aspect, as in the areas governed by the planet conjunct Uranus, the person, whether they want it or not, sometimes becomes a guinea pig of the Absolute, whose paths are unfathomable, especially at first. In general, this is a very strong aspect, and if the person can adapt to the rhythm of fate in the areas governed by the planet and learns to read or at least pay attention to the signs of karma sent to them, they will not only protect themselves (and others) from many troubles but also manifest extraordinarily unconventional worldviews, the value of which they will likely greatly overestimate: these diamonds require cutting, after which only a much smaller diamond remains. If the conjunction is heavily afflicted, the burden on the planet may become unbearable for the person, and in the corresponding areas, it will be difficult for them to remain within socially acceptable boundaries; that is, many of their ideas and actions will be completely incomprehensible to others, and the shadow of a psychiatric hospital may loom over them. One must learn to ground their fantasies and smooth out acute states, for which it is good to strengthen the harmonious aspects of the planet or its dispositor, and, as always, processing Saturn and developing respect for external reality (processing the 10th house) as well as a sense of humor (processing Chiron) helps. With harmonious aspects to the planet, this conjunction is most dangerous for those around them, especially those who activate the planet; at the same time, it is with them and for them that its unexpected ingenuity, bursts of ideas, and energy manifest.
