Saturn’s conjunction: Over time, it slows down of its own accord. The problem lies in noticing this. The conjunction of a planet with Saturn compresses and freezes its principle; the karmic requirement here involves deep processing, particularly freeing the planet’s principle from superficial, selfish programs that demand concrete rewards for even the slightest effort. For example, the conjunction of Saturn with Mercury produces a person who poorly understands things not thoroughly thought through, and struggling against this is futile. If the individual, which is very typical at a low level of aspect integration, attempts to ignore the intense pressure of Saturn that compels prolonged and careful thinking, their rational thought process will literally jam, and they will lose all reasoning ability altogether, experiencing the creativity of the Absolute in the form of various absurd and tragic—yet in reality, lazy and irresponsible—manifestations. At the beginning, working through Saturn’s conjunction requires withdrawal into oneself and contemplation of the planet’s principle within the context of one’s life and life philosophy, which is most often motivated by prolonged external limitations; further processing proceeds under less harsh conditions than the initial phase, but here the individual must demonstrate voluntary humility and willingly submit to the planet’s principle in situations when it becomes active, which leads to very high results and a breakthrough into great creativity in the areas ruled by the planet, although initially believing in this is difficult due to the conjunction with Saturn carrying a negative charge, often manifesting as an inferiority complex—while simultaneously harboring an exceptionally strong and deep inner drive to master the planet’s principle.
