Saturn conjunction: Over time, it slows down by itself. The problem lies in noticing this. A planet’s conjunction with Saturn compresses and freezes its principle; the karmic requirement here involves deep processing, particularly freeing the planet’s principle from superficial egoistic programs that demand concrete rewards for even the slightest effort. For example, the conjunction of Saturn with Mercury produces a person who poorly understands things not thoroughly thought through, and struggling against this is futile. If the person, which is very typical for the lower level of working with this aspect, tries to ignore the intense pressure of Saturn forcing him to think long and carefully, his rational thinking literally seizes up, and he loses all reasoning altogether, experiencing the creativity of the Absolute in the form of various absurd and tragic—yet in reality, lazy and irresponsible—manifestations. At the beginning, working with Saturn’s conjunction requires withdrawal into oneself and contemplation of the planet’s principle within the context of one’s life and life philosophy, which is most often motivated by prolonged external limitations; further processing proceeds under less harsh conditions than the initial stage, but here the individual must demonstrate voluntary humility and willingly submit to the planet’s principle in situations when it becomes active, leading to very high results and breakthroughs into great creativity in the areas ruled by the planet, although initially it is difficult to believe in this due to Saturn’s conjunction carrying a negative charge, often an inferiority complex—yet simultaneously an exceptionally strong and deep inner desire to master the planet’s principle. Chiron conjunction: It is better to serve God selflessly than to serve the devil without reward. A conjunction with Chiron gives the planet a special sense of humor, initially appreciated more by others than by the person himself, since the jokes are made at his expense. This aspect creates a karmic necessity for unconventional processing of the planet’s principle, stimulated by developmental deadlocks and incomprehensible, chaotic situations where an inner meaning is felt but cannot be grasped while remaining within familiar life positions. For instance, a conjunction of Chiron with the Moon may produce unusual or common but for some reason treatment-resistant illnesses that can literally torment the person until he turns to methods considered quackery or at least highly suspicious by official medicine. However, only a highly harmonious conjunction with Chiron brings rapid problem resolution bordering on miracles; usually, the individual must seriously adopt and materialize (at least for himself) new, initially semi-fantastical views, techniques, or methods. This often requires inner work within the areas of subconscious programs governed by the planet. For example, working with Chiron’s conjunction with Pluto implies reevaluating one’s views (often initially completely unconscious) on death, spiritual purification and repentance, the interconnection of personal and global karma (“an individual’s role in history”), and so on. Processing this conjunction grants extraordinary creative abilities in the areas ruled by the planet, along with techniques and methods that create miraculous effects, yet appear entirely “scientific” and “rational” to the next generation. Chiron’s main methodological principle is: “To understand means to get used to.” However, the essence of working with a planet’s conjunction with Chiron ultimately lies not in qualitatively new variations of the planet’s principle, but in the expansion of consciousness generated through it.
