Quintile Neptune – Pluto
(Transit. Neptune → Natal Pluto)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Quintile of Neptune: The River of Life, flowing into the ocean of Universal Love, originates in the swamp of Compassion. This aspect endows the spheres of the planet with the vitality of meditations, and at a high level—true understanding of the life of the planetary principle and any of its manifestations. At a low level, especially when the quintile is afflicted, a person will be drawn to and active primarily in parasitic forms of life associated with deception, false positions, and the secret use of another’s life flow in the spheres of the planet. If Neptune is afflicted in a person, they may be inclined toward the lowest forms of life of all that manifest in this degraded form, and then they will defend them to the detriment of others; here, the work takes place mainly in the inner world, and sometimes a person must descend to the very bottom of the corresponding puddle to renounce the pleasures of a dirty life (which they contrast with pure lifelessness), though sometimes half the depth is enough: the important thing is not to close one’s eyes to what is really happening. A characteristic unconscious sense of guilt toward life in the spheres of the planet arises, which the person tries to suppress or clumsily compensate for. An afflicted planet with harmonious Neptune produces the effect of rose-colored glasses: a person is happy with any manifestations of life in the spheres of the planet and finds it difficult to distinguish the low from the high or even understand its combinations, so they may find themselves in unpleasant situations trying to protect what should not be protected and from whom it should not be protected. A harmonious quintile gives a mystical fascination with the life of the planetary principle, combined with a certain passivity and a tendency to parasitize within it; at a high level—an ability to detect life in incredible conditions and help it develop.
Quintile of Pluto: When, in a dense forest teeming with predatory wolves, a young lamb appears, it is innocent in every way, yet it evokes a pleasant stir. This is a highly ambiguous aspect, the interpretation of which depends not only on the major aspects of Pluto and the planet but also on the person’s overall evolutionary level. In general, Pluto acts as an inspector of the quality and forms of life in the spheres of the planet, and a person will have to experience the permanent loss of some of them—it is better to come to terms with this in advance (experiencing a certain grief). On the other hand, Pluto destroys, first and foremost, parasitic forms of life, and after its influence, a person ultimately feels better, though the internal bedbugs and cockroaches thriving in the programs of the subconscious sometimes appear quite attractive in the inner world—at least if one does not look too closely—and parting with them (especially when the planet is afflicted) kills everything in them that gives life, and only much later do they realize that it was not so. An afflicted Pluto will make this process harsher and more abrupt, while a harmonious Pluto will make it gentler, but in any case, the experience (at low and medium levels) will not be the most pleasant. This aspect grants a sharp critical vision of life’s manifestations in the spheres of the planet, and when the quintile is afflicted, a person at a low level may become a black teacher of life, destroying not only its parasites but essentially all other manifestations (though they will likely think otherwise)—an aspect of Sodom and Gomorrah and AIDS.
