Quintile Neptune: The River of Life flowing into the ocean of Universal Love originates in the swamp of Compassion. This aspect imparts vitality to meditation within the spheres of the Planet; at a high level — true understanding of the planetary principle and all its manifestations. At a low level, especially when the quintile is afflicted, a person may be drawn to and active primarily in parasitic forms of existence related to deception, false positions, and the secret use of others’ life force within the planetary spheres. If Neptune is afflicted, the individual may be inclined toward the lowest forms of life expressed in this degenerate manner, and may even defend them to the detriment of others; here, work is carried out mainly in the inner world, and sometimes a person must descend to the very bottom of the corresponding puddle in order to reject the pleasures of a corrupt life (which they oppose to pure non-vitality), although at times half its depth is sufficient: the key is not to close one’s eyes to what is actually happening. A characteristic feature here is a subconscious sense of guilt toward life in the planetary spheres, which the person attempts to suppress or clumsily compensate for. Affliction of the Planet under harmonious Neptune produces a rose-colored glasses effect: the person feels happy about any manifestations of life in the planetary spheres, and finds it difficult to distinguish lower from higher expressions, or to understand their combinations, thus potentially getting into unpleasant situations by trying to protect what should not be protected, from those from whom protection is unnecessary. A harmonious quintile brings mystical fascination with the planetary principle of life, combined with a certain passivity and a tendency to parasitize upon it; at a high level — the ability to detect life under incredible conditions and assist its development. Quintile Chiron: Life, unlike the person studying it, never reaches a dead end. This is a highly promising aspect, provided one undertakes its development, as it grants in the planetary spheres the perception and materialization of life in forms where previously it was practically imperceptible. For example, the Chiron-Moon quintile bestows the ability to perceive the human biofield and organs; at a high level, it may enable healing through “conversations” with various parts of the body and internal organs as living beings possessing distinct characters and rudimentary consciousness (according to yogic teachings, the liver is stubborn, the spleen is obedient and affectionate and prefers gentle persuasion, etc.). The Chiron quintile may produce anecdotal manifestations of life in inanimate objects and perfectly timed moments (a hot frying pan, alive, slips from the hands and runs under the cabinet), creating unimaginable chaos of uncontrolled life expressions that initially sound humorous, but, when systematically repeated over a prolonged period, may deeply penetrate the subconscious or fundamentally expand one’s understanding of life and one’s responsibilities toward it. For instance, a Mercury quintile to Chiron in the fourth house may mean that a person will have to rationally recognize as alive certain members of their family who (as they initially believe) completely lack this quality, at least in the areas governed by Mercury. Yet eventually, the Chiron quintile provides a way out of dead ends in life’s development, including within the family.
