Mercury Conjunct Venus

Mercury–Venus Conjunction

(Transit Mercury conjunct Natal Venus)

Different sources for the child’s horoscope

Your child has charm, a soft and melodic voice, and the ability to “feel” the thoughts of others. Most often, they speak correctly, but they may become emotionally agitated if others do not understand the depth and flow of their thoughts. They have talents in literature, poetry, science, and mathematics. They may be able to reveal and express their talents in art if their parents support them. For example, if the child has a melodic voice, encourage them to read aloud.

Het Monster. Aspects

Refined speech and writing style, a soft and melodic voice; talents in literature and poetry. They radiate beauty and harmony and often improve the psychological and physical well-being of those around them. A passionate temperament, which often causes significant difficulties.

Catherine Aubier. Astrological Dictionary

In a conjunction — the merging of the mental and emotional: one cannot exist without the other. Feelings influence reasoning, and vice versa. Therefore, arguments and conclusions often contain likes and dislikes, and inclinations and desires may be subject to logic.

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

The conjunction of Mercury: Anxiety arises both from the absence of thought and, in many cases, from its presence. Mercury gives the planet it is conjunct with a strong mental coloring, even when it is unnecessary or undesirable; for example, in a Mercury–Venus conjunction in a romantic relationship, there will be so much calculation and rationality that any direct feeling or living sensation will last only briefly, especially if Mercury is stronger than Venus. Unfortunately, mental coloring is not synonymous with intelligence, as it often reduces to commonplace, flat ideas and stereotypes of collective consciousness and the subconscious, which actively influence the planet’s principle, schematizing and profaning it. The person will certainly feel this, but all attempts to free themselves from Mercury’s dead (each time in its own way) influence on the planet by expanding the sphere of its expression (for example, seeking new lovers in the case of Venus) are doomed to failure, as the mind, though crude, is flexible and can adapt somehow. Working through the conjunction primarily involves processing Mercury, that is, becoming aware of the role and meaning of mental activity as an energy flow and planetary principles that provide a general direction but do not replace them. This processing is complex because it requires a restructuring of thinking, abandoning rigid linear social stereotypes, and transitioning to working with lighter and more flexible thought-forms capable of adequate interaction between the Cosmos and the planet’s principle. For example, a Mercury–Mars conjunction with a strong Mercury at a low level of processing turns a person into a virtual machine that must mentally model every active action before acting, utterly unable to trust their own feelings or the logic of immediate energetic expression. Processing the aspect grants great creative abilities, expressed as subtle and inventive indirect mental control over the planet’s principle at the necessary moments. The Venus conjunction: Benefiting society is only possible after first separating oneself from it. A conjunction with Venus gives the planet strong social and aesthetic accents; at a low level, in the areas governed by the planet, this person will be aesthetically capricious and socially determined. Public opinion and the principle of “how people do it” will be very significant for them, and freeing the planet’s principle from the influence of social clichés will be difficult, sometimes leading to laughable dogmatism and absurd unpredictable effects when trying to apply social stereotypes in completely unsuitable situations — which is how it will manifest at this level. Another feature of Venus’s influence on the planet in conjunction with it is the accent on love, not necessarily erotic. Processing the aspect grants divine light to any expression of the planet; at a low level, the person does not perceive the planet’s expressions unless a significant amount of directed love or social attention is added to them, even though (karmically) they should not receive but radiate love in appropriate situations. For example, a child with Venus conjunct Saturn can be encouraged to engage in activities or focus only through kindness, affection, gentle persuasion, etc., but never through force; ridicule in society will make them literally curl up in a corner and cry. At a low level, Venus relaxes the planet, making the person a social parasite and a refined egoist in the corresponding areas, but during processing, egoism gives way to service to others; for example, a Venus–Moon conjunction may produce a glutton and gourmet who cares only about their stomach, but when processed, they become a brilliant chef who presents dishes as if for an art exhibition; the same applies to their love life.

Frances Sakoian. Aspects

Refined oral and written language, a soft and melodic voice, talents in literature, poetry, and earning in these fields. Diplomatic in everyday life, as their goals align with aesthetic areas in partnership with others. Talents in science and mathematics provide an understanding of connections and relationships. They enjoy the company of others, radiating beauty and harmony. They can improve the health of those around them. If nothing spoils it, they bestow favor and sympathy. Their mind is directed toward practical goals, especially if the conjunction occurs in an Earth sign.

S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of Planets

Since Mercury does not move more than 28° from the Sun and Venus does not move more than 48° from the Sun, the aspects Mercury and Venus can form with each other are: conjunction, semi-square (inharmonious aspects), and semi-sextile, sextile, quintile (harmonious aspects). Since Mercury and Venus are not strongly conflicting planets, the flaws of their inharmonious aspects (conjunction, semi-square) are minor and insignificant. Such interaction may be associated with excessive pursuit of pleasure or chatter. Mercury in harmonious aspects with Venus: Harmonious aspects bestow a peaceful mind, friendliness, sociability, productivity, talent, giftedness (usually in the arts — poetry, painting), skillful hands (the ability to do everything beautifully and elegantly), attractiveness, and good taste. An unfavorable consequence may be associated with an excessive pursuit of pleasure or changing partners in marriage or business.
