Neptune conjunction: A person who lacks a soul will struggle to believe in the immortality of the soul. In areas governed by the planet joined with Neptune, concentration becomes difficult—they fall into meditation, but (without working through the aspect) it is guided by lower subconscious programs that attempt to subordinate all expressions of the planet’s principle to the ego. Neptune creates constant distortions in perception, false positions, and temptations toward conscious and unconscious deception in the relevant spheres, and freeing oneself from these influences is very difficult because an unworked conjunction allows the lower octave of Neptune to deeply penetrate the planet’s principles. If Neptune is conjunct Venus, at a low level of processing the person will constantly find themselves in false positions, lying in social and romantic contexts, yet both this and accessible forms of art will be endless sources of pleasure for them. Working through the aspect yields a true connoisseur of art. Working through Neptune conjunct Saturn is much more complex, as lower-octave Neptune distracts Saturn’s gaze, making concentration (and the deep focus and inner honesty required for discipline) nearly impossible—their attention drifts into lower meditation. Here, Pluto (which, by the way, was in sextile to Neptune for the second half of the 20th century, offering support) is the only planet capable of dispelling Neptune’s illusions and deceptions. At a high level of processing, the Neptune conjunction grants the person a rare ability to truly understand, engage in profound meditation, and take external actions in which they can express the ineffable—but not everyone will be able to perceive this.
