What is Human Design
Human Design was formed in the late 20th century as a synthesis of astrology, the Chinese “Book of Changes,” the Indian chakra system, and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. The calculation is based on two moments: the time of birth and a point approximately 88 days before it. Their combination produces a diagram called a BodyGraph.
The practical value lies primarily in three aspects: type, strategy, and inner authority. The type describes how your energy exchange with the world is structured. The strategy tells you where to begin action. The authority indicates what to use to verify decisions when the mind presents equally convincing arguments for both options.
Five Types
Generator and Manifesting Generator together make up about 70% of people. They have a defined Sacral Center, meaning they possess a renewable source of energy that activates in response to something specific, not by mental command.
Projector (about 20%) lacks a stable energy source but sees the mechanics of people and systems. Their resource is not endurance but the precision of perception, and they work where invited.
Manifestor (about 9%) can initiate action independently, without external prompting. Reflector (about 1%) has no defined centers and reflects the environment in which they find themselves.
Why an Accurate Birth Time is Needed
Human Design is more sensitive to time than a conventional horoscope. Fast elements of the diagram change within an hour, so even a two-hour error can yield a different type and authority, and thus opposite advice on decision-making.
If the exact time is unknown, the calculation will still show something, but it should not be relied upon. A birth certificate or medical record is more useful here than family memory.
Type is Not a Diagnosis
Human Design is not a scientific discipline and does not predict events. It is a model convenient for self-observation: it provides a language to describe why some decisions come easily while others remain stagnant for years. Its validity should be tested through personal experience, not taken on faith.
