3rd House in Capricorn

3rd House in Capricorn

Avesalom Podvodny. Houses in the Signs of the Zodiac

Relentless persistence in learning is worse than a death sentence. This person is practical in relationships with others and expects the same attitude in return. At a low level of house processing, the ideas of selflessness, altruism, and mercy as self-sufficient values are difficult for them to grasp. Working through the house reveals long-term social karmic programs and their connection with individual karma, but first and foremost, one must learn to perceive people along with their emotions and ideas—something that is initially quite challenging from this house position; another person is seen primarily as a social individual with certain practical skills, while their inner world seems doubtful at best and irrelevant at worst. With afflictions, there are strong phobias, general dryness, and distrust of people. Harmonious aspects grant good administrative abilities and respect; such people inspire obedience. Learning will involve many difficulties and obstacles, but there will also be determination and, ultimately, practical success—provided the teacher does not impatiently rush the process like someone trying to light a wet haystack with a torch. In case of affliction, the teacher may be overly goal-oriented, dry, and perpetually dissatisfied with students (and secretly with themselves), no matter how hard they try. They will attempt to strip students of their remaining inspiration, enthusiasm, and diligence, transforming their souls into barren wastelands, setting immediate demands as if they were already accomplished masters. If this school is successfully completed, the effect surpasses all expectations; if the student’s soul departs along the way, they become an exact copy of their teacher. In the harmonious version, there is strong determination in learning and (principally, correct) confidence that one can learn anything if enough time is invested. This person will not rush their own learning nor that of their students, from whom they must learn to accept spiritual lessons—then their students will respond emotionally, deeply touching the core of their soul (9th house in Cancer).

Houses in the Signs. Oleksandr Kostovych

Cautious in expressing their thoughts. They say or write nothing without substantial reason, earning a reputation as a silent type. They know how to keep secrets. Their words are calculated for maximum impact; they can be harsh, cunning, and demanding in speech, often setting verbal and logical traps for their victims. Practical in relationships with others. The ideas of altruism and selflessness are difficult for them to grasp. In others, they value practical skills and abilities above all. They consider the inner spiritual world irrelevant. Dryness and distrust of people, sometimes even social phobia. Learning involves many difficulties and obstacles, but determination leads to success. They may encounter dry, harsh, perpetually dissatisfied teachers. They know how to listen, almost forcing the interlocutor to reveal everything—personal secrets or intimate details that should never be disclosed. They perceive a person’s inner problems with great precision. Relationships with relatives are strictly regulated. Few siblings. One of them is at risk of severe danger from falling from a height or drowning during a flood. Their speech is often biting, sarcastic, and full of irony. Authoritarian, suspicious, oppressive to others. Their distrust and ill-will can be overcome by showing interest in their problems. Sometimes they even enjoy suffering to inflict pain on others in return. From childhood, they should be raised with strict discipline. They need to be instilled with compassion for the sick, the weak, and the defenseless, respect for elders, and the ability to forgive offenses. They are capable of self-criticism and harsh self-judgment; they do not deceive themselves. They are stern, with nerves of steel. They can gain much from studying ancient works and manuscripts. Their humor is aggressive, while they themselves struggle to accept jokes at their own expense. Easily hurt, they maintain a detached demeanor. Coldness and restraint seem more like a lifeline to them than a genuine inclination.

Pavlo Globa. Houses in the Signs
