Saturn’s biquintile: Either a person is ahead of their time, or time treads upon them with its gray foot. This aspect gives a subconscious desire to deeply understand the lower strata of life within the planet’s spheres and to take meaningful part in it, through which the individual may express their humanism. However, initially, especially if Saturn is afflicted, the person perceives lower life in a very primitive way and engages with it extremely awkwardly, which may create a complex of inferiority or, conversely, trigger sadistic tendencies from the depths of the subconscious and bring them into actualization. In areas of the inner world that resonate with the problems of lower life, the person will feel vulnerable, and it is fortunate if they extend this sense of vulnerability toward lower life itself. Generally speaking, this sensitivity is inherent at first, but over the course of life it may be repressed into the subconscious, and then compassion often transforms into pronounced cruelty—though in this case, such cruelty is rather an exception than the rule. The process of integration proceeds through deep study of lower forms of life and a careful, unhurried search for adequate contact and interaction with them; temptations will include frustrations due to the slowness of this process, overly rigid and primitive notions about life and oneself, and outwardly cruel behavior, which should gradually be replaced by gentle, though restrained, human expressions. At a high level, wisdom and profound human self-expression are achieved. Neptune’s biquintile: Even geese have their mantras. This aspect grants, within the planet’s spheres, love for lower forms of life and compassion toward them; at a high level, subtle understanding and humane attitude, where the individual acts as a higher being, that is, a kind of deity. At a low level, there is no true understanding, yet the person seeks lower life in search of lower meditations, debasing themselves toward it and attaining a lower octave of those feelings and experiences which, in the higher variant, are desirable but inaccessible without special effort. For example, a Neptune-Mercury or Neptune-Venus biquintile may produce a socially well-adjusted and non-addicted individual who nevertheless idolizes conversations with vagrants, alcoholics, etc., voluntarily helping them obtain their next dose or simply providing moral support through agreement and reinforcement. Here there is attachment to a lower form of life, but the help given benefits less the recipient than the giver (indirect satisfaction of repressed desires for freedom and immediate joy of life). If Neptune is afflicted, various distortions in the perception of lower forms of life are possible, along with inadequate (though often poorly understood why) participation in them, and resolving the situation may be very difficult, requiring consideration of specific lower programs of the subconscious that have become activated. A harmonious Neptune presents a distorted rosy picture of lower life and the person’s role within it, and even minimal successful involvement in its problems will bring the individual into an euphoric state, although real results may practically be absent; nonetheless, a harmonious biquintile confers a natural grace radiating from the person toward lower forms of life, and children and dogs will love them unconditionally.
