Chiron in the 4th House
B. Israel. Planets in Houses
Instability of residence — several houses, apartments, places where the person is expected — may occur within a small area (one neighborhood). It is difficult to catch him at home. Parents may be step-parents. Inversion of mother’s and father’s roles: the father nurtures, while the mother works. Family bonds are not very strong, and attachment to home is minimal.

Who comprehends the incomprehensible. Chiron (and each of the three outer planets) in the fourth house gives a person who has a very powerful inner engine, capable of starting to function at any moment. Until this activation occurs, it can be confidently stated that the person does not know himself; yet potentially, he is capable of great achievements. In the lower octave, this placement produces a troublemaker — someone who believes that every matter must be sabotaged and quickly ruined or discredited. His ideal is a dead-end development that transforms reality into complete, hopeless chaos. Such an attitude leads eventually to chaos dominating his own psychological reality, as he will be forced to confront a blind alley in his inner development and, due to a firmly established habit of profanation, will be unable to find a way out. Working through this energy, conversely, creates an inner attitude oriented toward overcoming difficulties and dead ends through unconventional, almost incredible, but actually just new and effective methods. Chiron presents the individual with an unusual, unfamiliar, or incomprehensible phenomenon or event, placing him before a very clear choice: either to profane it and dismiss it as ordinary (it suffices to mock it; indeed, profane humor is governed by the lower octave of Chiron), or, conversely, to clearly and distinctly recognize and acknowledge it (this may apply to both the external and internal world). Shifting from the lower (profaning) Chironic attitude to the higher (constructive) one leads to the emergence of extraordinary abilities and potentials in the person. Specific details will be indicated by Chiron’s position in the chart — for example, Chiron in an air sign in aspect to the Moon suggests extraordinary memory capabilities; in a fire sign — abilities to work with cosmic energy; with a major aspect to Mars — exceptional athletic talents (5th house) or a gift for healing. As the aspect is worked through, life not only becomes deeply interesting for the individual, but external circumstances begin to change as well: fate presents opportunities to apply these abilities in practice (10th house). Self-assertion at the lower level manifests as affirming the stance: “There is nothing in the world I cannot ridicule and destroy.” This gradually transforms into the constructive stance: “From any dead end, a way out can be found.” When religious feelings emerge in such a person, God reveals Himself unexpectedly, yet fully materially and unambiguously. Living with such a person in a family is a test, though sometimes it can be very interesting. Initially, with poor integration, serious and significant developmental dead ends within the family may occur — sometimes psychological, sometimes seemingly purely external — yet they are overcome primarily through inner work. As Chiron is integrated, it brings a high level of inner honesty; otherwise, it results in colossal self-deception and all tendencies to project one’s own guilt onto others.
