Neptune in the 6th House

Neptune in the 6th House

Frances Sakoian. Planets in Houses

Spiritual work and service. Difficulties related to work and illness. They require great sacrifices. Working in hospitals and other large institutions. Professions may be related to psychotherapy. Your body is very sensitive, and you may have allergic reactions to food, medications, or other environmental factors. It seems that emotional stress and disorder affect you literally physically and much faster than others.

B. Izrail. Planets in Houses

The person is very sensitive to all types of pollution, accumulates harmful substances in themselves. It is important that the living environment is clean—environmental problems hit twice as hard. Water filtration is necessary. Fasting and baths help. The profession may be related to chemistry, or to the arts, especially music and poetry. A good pharmacologist, a homeopath interested in psychiatry; a bacteriologist, a virologist. If the person works in a “normal” job, it is impossible to understand what they are actually doing at the moment, and they themselves will never say exactly. No one can give them a clear task. Relationships in the team are shrouded in secrecy and confusion. The person does not know who their boss is or who their subordinate is, what the organization is called, or under whose jurisdiction they fall. Work at the intersection of specialties, for example, medical instrument engineering. Keeps aquarium fish and mollusks at home.

If the person is happy at work, they understand it. Neptune in the 6th house is in symbolic imprisonment. This is a difficult position, as the person will find it very hard to focus on their work and bring it to completion, with obstacles of an irrational or even mystical nature, even if everything initially seems harmless: someone calls at a crucial moment and distracts them, a “random” meeting or experiment falls through. The result, when viewed overall, is one—failure at work. Special difficulties arise with precise work—the unknown force constantly disrupts focus and settings. However, if the person understands the nature of the obstacles and learns to work under such uniquely difficult conditions (helped by Saturn’s influence, discipline, constant attention, and caution), they discover another, no less remarkable circumstance: it turns out that a significant part of their failures is due to their attention being scattered by happiness, discomfort, or ecstatic feelings about learning to work, ignoring this state or suppressing it. With Neptune afflicted, there are great difficulties in understanding work and an incorrect, often subjective and overestimated evaluation of its results. This person must understand what they are doing, or they will accomplish nothing. On the other hand, they understand only work and what is related to it—the rest of life is conditional for them. With an opposition to the 12th house, workaholism is possible, where the person only works, showing no interest in anything else. Health is complicated. Strange mental states, vague disorders, and poorly diagnosed illnesses dependent on emotional state and other less obvious causes are possible. But when the person is healthy, a Neptunian magic emanates from them, subtly transforming reality in a partially euphoric direction.

Illness and healing. Illness is a mystery. Your dreams influence your health, affecting both the onset and healing of disease. Vague fears and unconsciously perceived illusions harm health. The healing process involves positively addressing such fears and forming the right attitude toward them. To understand the cause of illness, you tend to turn to occultism or metaphysics. Disease symptoms are often vague and unclear, so to choose the right treatment, you must look beyond the surface and reach the symbolic and subtle emotional roots of the illness. The task is to see yourself not as a machine made of parts but as a whole, living being—not an object of mechanical analysis or diagnosis from a manual. Illness is not defeated; it disappears when you shift to a higher level of understanding it. Unequal relationships. You believe that everything in the world exists as it should; if someone is your boss, then so be it; if someone is your subordinate, then it is their cosmic destiny. You naturally believe that power is granted to kings from above. Often, this mindset is positive, but beware of traps. You trust bosses and subordinates deeply, assuming they will fulfill their roles gracefully. This stance can lead to disappointment and suffering. Of course, a general sends troops into battle, but at some point, they must inspire them. The task is to feel the pain of every role people play: oppression is painful, yet, oh, how lonely it is to be at the very top. Identify with every person in the hierarchy of power and forgive them for any real or imagined sins. Duty and service. Serving others is your spiritual calling: “It is better to give than to receive.” Yet, despite these lofty sentiments, you should not be self-sacrificing in service. You need to receive something in return. You want to feel a sense of direction toward the light, ever closer to the Home, to the loving hands of the Creator. The problem lies in tangibility. By your efforts, do you help others or hinder them? How do you know if you achieve true humility or are merely an outwardly gentle helper? The trap is deception, most often of yourself rather than others. Undoubtedly, your sincerity will be tested. The task is to easily let go of worldly matters and help others master the same devotion you possess. Technical thinking. A holistic system is more than the sum of its parts. Yet, your mind barely touches the parts. You “think” dreamily; your thinking is more like a process of feeling-perception. Your thinking is more art than science; it is more intuitive than logical; more metaphysical than technical. Your methods of thinking are effective insofar as poetic imagination can provide meaningful assistance in solving a specific problem. However, use your abilities carefully, as they may draw you into trouble where you are labeled a charlatan. The task is to use a meditative approach, lifting others to a higher spiritual level with your broad vision. Yet, beware that your dreams do not obscure your vision. You must see precisely what is, while maintaining the ability to accept and interact with what we call the “real” world, no matter how unreal it may seem. Discipline and patterns. Work patterns are the songs you sing to yourself, the lullabies of biological feedback. Other people sometimes marvel at how easily you maintain discipline, praising you for your inexhaustible grace. At other times, it turns out that you sit over a task without working, instead traveling in your dreams. A crisis is not very dangerous for you; you prefer to smooth out highs and lows, performing tasks as regularly as possible. Enchanted by miracles, you wish the results of your labor to be as if performed by a magician.

Bruno Huber. Mars, Venus, Moon, and Neptune in the Twelve Houses

Moon and Neptune largely shape our ability to love. Neptune in the 6th house often fosters social activity—the desire to express love through service, aid, healing, care for the sick, consolation for the suffering and downtrodden. However, another possibility is that we see ourselves as suffering and downtrodden and seek protection for ourselves. Which of these positions is adopted depends, as always, on the rest of the chart, as well as on the level of self-awareness and birth circumstances. Neptune in the 6th house may indicate whether we were born into a very poor or very wealthy family.
