Semi-square Venus: Knowing how one should and should not behave is good, but it is still important to understand what to do in other cases. For a person at a low level, the planet’s spheres will be characterized by social and aesthetic dogmatism and rigid perception based on inflexible attitudes. Such people turn discoveries in art into an artistic method, which often amounts to killing the very thing; in social programs, such rigidity often gives power capable of subduing the masses, but creative people will avoid it, and the person may develop a Salieri complex. For example, a semi-square Venus–Uranus at a low level can produce dogmatic aesthetic embodiment of brilliant ideas, which often die as a result, though the person themselves rarely sees this.
Working through this aspect grants remarkable skill in art related to the planet’s spheres or refined and perfect mastery of social issues—essentially, working within large egregores using tools that initially seem inconvenient and unsuited for the task: brushes, paints, newspaper and magazine pages. However, this requires tracking and acknowledging one’s poor mastery of artistic and social management tools, and, most importantly, recognizing the imperfection and limitations of one’s vision—which can be psychologically difficult. It is much easier to project one’s vision onto others, proving through examples that the subtleties they see are illusory and insignificant.
Semi-square Pluto: The flour that sifts from the millstones of history is usually raw—stained with blood. At a low level, this aspect gives an overly schematic view of flaws and vices in the planet’s spheres, overly straightforward methods, and rigid tools for their eradication. With strong energy, this can make a person a merciless tyrant, an unyielding leader driving a people resisting desperately toward a bright future. However, the same rigid tools will be felt by the person themselves, and here they will face one of the most unpleasant variants—a mechanistic one, where the true causes of irreversible losses remain far beyond the person’s vision, and they are powerless to oppose fate.
The karmic tasks of this aspect are to recognize the imperfection of one’s cleansing tools in the planet’s spheres and the crudeness of one’s perception of its flaws, and, most importantly, to illuminate and eliminate or transform one’s evolutionary tails in the planet’s sphere. Only after this does the person find refined tools and vision in the planet’s spheres, allowing them to separate the wheat from the chaff without crushing a single cow from the collective farm herd with their winnowing fan.
