The sage fearlessly observes the boiling of passions, protecting people from themselves. This position of the 4th house gives stable life positions. At a low level – nihilistic-destructive ones: “The world needs nothing but to be destroyed as quickly as possible.” This person is inwardly merciless. The most humanitarian of their attitudes sounds approximately like this: “shoot to put out of misery,” with emphasis on the first word. If the person is generally inclined toward constructive activity, they repress such attitudes deep into the subconscious, but these attitudes poison their life, and moreover, from time to time surface outward, sometimes in an unexpected and sharp form for the person themselves and their environment, for example, unmotivated emotional aggression or an outburst of schadenfreude at another’s misfortune. If the 4th house is afflicted, such attitudes can destroy the psyche, and it becomes difficult to trace their deep motivations and the person’s true life positions, and to attempt even partial correction, bringing them into minimal agreement with specific external life goals set by practical and constructive Taurus (10th house). Processing transforms the tarantula into a gray lizard. In this state, the person’s true life positions remain a mystery to themselves, but are still not constructive. Only at the eagle phase (and in the transition to the 3rd level of processing the 4th house) does the person arrive at ideas of protection and constructive transformation – of the surrounding world and of themselves. Religious feelings here are strong and sharply emotional, and the person has no atheistic doubts; in this style, on levels 1–2 of processing, the person affirms their life positions, sometimes through direct coercion over others. The person tends to guard their home (except at the lowest level). Everything they dislike, they will stubbornly discard; moreover, rearranging and changing furniture will sometimes be an imperative necessity for them. The same, in principle, applies to the spouse (husband); at the very least, the husband should not stagnate in his development. Children, fortunately, always change with age, and this is a good field for applying Scorpionic efforts. There may be an emphasis on emotional and sexual spheres of interest, especially with a strong Scorpio; sexual failures with a marital partner are experienced very acutely.
